I found a food sanitizer but it doesn't do jack crap like the one in fallout 3. was 7 pounds and I've been lugging it around for a long time in the game. I eventually just sold it to a trader.

My question here is, what's the point of it being a food sanitizer if it isn't going to sanitize my food in the game. Bug?? or what?

Doesn't the sanitizer just reduce the radiation count, and not totally eliminate it?

I find food all the time considering I'm playing hardcoe. I found this sanitizer early in the game. I did some tests one time by dropping it out of my inventory and such. It just doesn't do anything at all and I have not ran into any quests about a food sanitizer yet. Ultimately I decided it was a waste of 7 pounds and I sold it.

Might just be an easter egg then. *shrug*

I've found a bunch of food sanitizers. I have four now Time to sell them.

Also playing hardcoe... there's tons of food in the game that gives you rads.

IIRC, the only thing it does it reduce the radiation from eating food by a small amount. Hardly worth it since you can simply pay 100 caps at a medic if you want to hang onto your RadAway.

IIRC the food sanitizer in FO3 only increased the health gained, don't think it even reduced the rads.

No, I think the one in FO3 reduced the rads. This one doesn't do anything, though.

The one in FO3 boosted HP gains from eating food. It didn't affect radiation.

According to People on The Internet ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Food_sanitizer ) the ones in FO:NV only affect the 'Junk food' and 'Bubblegum' items.

Correct. Which (IMHO) is silly. Should've reduced Rads and not increased Health (I modded it in my game to do just that actually)

This. It made all food and water heal for 20% more, and nothing else.
