Werewolves are overrated!

If werecreatures should be added, I vote for the werewolf and the werebear. I would pick the werewolf by default, but it would be interesting to meet a werebear in it's human form.

I'm all for wereboars. I always have been since Daggerfall. However, I love my TES werewolves just as much as the wereboars. Most games I sort of see them as "Meh..." But in a TES game, its an entirely new play option and gameplay mechanic that is in the world. So no, I don't think they are over rated.

I know no such thing. Does that mean I'm no fan of the series?

There's only as much background lore concerning were-creatures as there is for dragons. Sure, the lore isn't as important to the "history" of the game, but it's no less prevalent. And obviously they are a subject of interest, we only see about half a dozen threads concerning them every day or so. So if they want to ignore the history they've written, and the interests of the fans who play their games by not including them, that's their choice. I just happen to think it's the wrong choice.

A wherebear sounds pretty cool but i'd rather have a werewolf than a whereboar.

WereBears would actually be kind of sweet for Nords.
(wereBoars have some scrappy potential, but honestly would just come off as kind of silly, and belonging as villains in 1980s cartoons)

Werewolves are going to attract a little more notice though, and I'm fine with that as long as they make them a STORY element and not just a weapon.

If I become a werewolf I don't want to just go on a murderous rampage ALL the time - I want to discover an underground society/culture of werewolves. That might mean some scattered dens, characters with decent dialogue trees, and even some quests (preferably a few persistent ones too, so I always feel like I have something to do AS a werewolf). Or, if we're going for more of a feral beast feel than a pack feel, it might mean territorial disputes, being hunted, and challenging rival alpha wolves.

But one way or another I just want there to be more to it than tearing up some expendable NPCs. I know it probably doesn't seem as worthwhile to build a subculture around an element that a lot of players may not experience at all, but the characters and locations can still be there for werewolf hunting for those who don't end up werewolf-joining.

Twilight reference make me out of this thread, before I go I say
Vampires must be in skyrim, they was in most of tes games as formidable highlevel enemies and I'd like to see at last one vampire clan with quests line.
Were-beasts is interesting feature I enjoyed roleplay werewolf in Morrowind and Daggerfall, nice to see werewolfs as part of Hircine daedric quest, since Skyrim doesn't suit for unicorns meadows.

I would rather have werebears than werewolves... werebears are the unique lycanthropes of Skyrim... They should then move the werewolves to cyrodill and say that some werecrocodiles moved from Blackmarsh to Morrowind since both places are basicly the same now were Morrowind is argonian and then each place would have its own unique lycanthrope! but I mostly want gamesas to follow this holy book here: http://uesp.net/wiki/Daggerfall:On_Lycanthropy
And it clearly says that: the werebear is the most common lycanthrope in Skyrim

Um I know I can′t judge since I don′t make the best polls myself but... most of the options are two answers, how is one supposed to answer that they want developers time spent on better things without saying they want spears at the same time ?

Give us more options instead but with only 1 opinion within each option.

Don't take it too literally, it's just an example.

And would you people stop taking the Twilight reference so seriously? I just meant vampires and werewolves are becoming gimmicky sort of, and Twilight's much to blame. I do thnk they're both cool however, but there should be something more to it. Like werebears.

SKyrim should be like Daggerfall, give players otpions to choose which werecreature they want to be infected with. Cyrodiil was suppose to have werewolves, but they didn't.

I don't care. Werebears are fine with me, but I'd rather have them concentrate on other things like spears.

Too much unassumed twilighters, look on how many wherewolves and Vampires thread there is, especially for such an assinine pre adolescent books. Won t even comment the movies i didn t see, but i ROTFLMAO seeing others comenting them.
Wherewolves and vampires are overated, looks like there only those 2 creatures in any mythology, why can t i B[censored]g a Succubus ? Way more interesting, even if she gonna rip out my heart of my chest after, but anyway its a one lifetime experience not many would have.

you forgot the werelions but If we only get one werebeast per province I'd say move the lions to elsweyr and make the werewolves curodils creatures... they don't fit that much now that someone magicly transformed it from a jungle to a typichal forest from where I live (except the place I live don't have caves, mountains (ONLY hills), any form of weather whatsoever, and wildlife....) and yes it should be like daggerfall... except I want there to go three days before you transform, I wanted to become a wereboar... had givin' my char critical weakness to disease hoping to catch it but I ran into a werewolf :(

stop flaming i dnot even like twilight you do realize that werewolves and vampires are the originals as far as mainstream culture goes. there was never an American Wereshark in london or a Bram Strokers Wereboar. We know werewolves and vampires and most of us dont want to be overly bulky or as silly looking as a wereboar. besides to most of us think werewolves are cooler. u have to realize that most of us have never seen twilight but we enjoy werewolves becuz of morrowind. and vampires have been a stable.

I hear you, and I know werewolves and vampires have always been a part of mainstream culture. But how about not relying too much on mainstream culture and make TES more unique as a universe?

I'm glad someone appreciates my humour :)

So what's the problem with having both? If you happen to get infected, use a cure disease potion/spell/blessing.

TES isn't Twilight
TES isn't Underworld
TES isn't based on a movie(save for oblivion basing parts on LotR)
