Wow..The Legion assassin army doesn't play around

Yeah, get these guys on you and you're pretty much screwed. They blew through my followers and myself (with 27 DT) in about 20 seconds on normal-hardcoe settings at level 17. Has it be some special "trick" that makes such a lop-sided fight possible, at least I have the option of cashing in my "pardon" with Caesar to make the pain stop.

If you think combat is too easy make a major faction angry. You'll get your butt handed to you in short order.

I was playing on normal and they were no big deal at all! They made some serious blunders:
1st: They only sent a 3 man crew.
2nd: They approached me, Boone and EDI while we were on top of a small hill with them at the bottom and the slope was unclimbable at that spot.

Result: I scored 2 head shots and Boone got the 3rd.

My current play through is on hardcoe and I have not made them mad enough yet to send the hit squads so we shall see if I go down in flames or not this time around.

Looks like I was unlucky and got way more then the 3-4 that I've seen posted. All of them had low DAM weapons but the leak through damage from all those guns was enough to overwhelm a stimpack+super stimpack+food items working together. ED-E and Veronica (wearing a full set of reinforced metal armor) where both dead right off.

Maybe killing the guy wearing the standard will make the others flee? Has to be a "trick" to these guys. Fighting them all directly seems like doing it the hard way.

I'm sure elite NCR rangers are even worse. Wait a sec....I have a "bat-phone" radio that can call those guys in. That might save me next time it happens. More likely those rangers will get owned instantly.

I was playing on normal too & I didn't have any problems with them either. I was by myself at lvl 14 with a sniper rifle & some steady. Their guys didn't last any time at all against my wrath. I think they sent 3 or 4 after me. But I guess it helps that I knew they were coming so I was set up on cliff waiting for them. lol

Really? I took them all out with on VATS sequence and a series of hunting rifle shots to the head, and I had boone with me.

I was rescuing the Powder Gangers who were taken from Nipton when I angered the Faction enough to send assassin after me.

I just thought they were normal reinforcement for that encounter. Gunned them down along with the rest with VATS. Didn't find them that hard. I was level 12 or 13 at the time. But I did put every point I have into Guns, maybe that is why.

I was with Boone and ED-E when we came across some Legion recruiters. I had neutral reputation with them at that time. Boone goes berserk once he spots them and the recruiters are hostile. I was planning to let Boone do all the work when one charges right at me. I introduced his face to my boomstick. As a result my reputation goes DOWN.

The battle music starts to fade... then immediately begins again as three or four new flashing red lights are on my compass. Legion assassins are charging down the hill. They don't hang about, do they?

hardcoe mode, so followers will die in such encounters, Veronica was falling over dead during the first VATS sequence. Also, I didn't have the luxury of long range. They spawned pretty much out of thin air right on top of us....out in the open. Pretty sure I was just unlucky here with that spawn.

Here is a better question. If I win against one of the teams will I not need to worry about another for awhile? Or will it be like FO3 and I get spamed with them every five minutes untill all the possible spawn points are loaded with bodies. Then do it all over again 3+ game days latter.

These guys are ridiculous. I just finished The House Always Wins IV, and now whenever I set foot outside The Strip, there's a 6-man squadron of these guys straight-up murdering me wherever I go. I can't do anything in the game anymore, because all my saves are after they've gotten on me. I've tried just about everything, but they always come running, making a beeline right for me, stopping briefly to kill any enemy soldiers in the area, then continuing right for me. This is even though I should be outside their detection range, sneaking, and using a Stealth Boy. Next step is just disabling all of them with the console, because this is just plain dumb.

I've only seen them once. And I am a "Wild Child" with them, which I think is pretty bad, but that might be because I wiped out all of the Fort and Cottonwood.

Was about level 12 and alone when I killed everyone in their advance camp, including the two powdergangers. When i went down there, 3 assassins jumped me. Playing on normal, hardcoe, 80 in guns and around 50 in explosives.

You have to keep moving...spread them out, and unload on one at a time. We played tag around the shed and the hill nearby. Tried headshots when I could, threw some grenades, and eventually killed them. It was one of the better fights so far.

Yeah, I had 3 of them and 3 golden geckos on my ass. I had to shoot'em with Euclid's C Finder to lower their health a little than the geckos killed off two of them. I hid behind a rock until the geckos approached me. After I delt with them I had to fight the last assasian with 1 hp. I saved and kept reloading until he was dead.
