Am worried about buying this game because just like in COD like CTF others just go for kills instead of completing the objectives but can u win matches even if your team don't do the objectives

Objectives reward hundreds of times more XP than kills. Therefore, while your COD imports are massacring each other at level 3 after a day of gameplay, I will be at level 16 with the real men and women of Brink.

well first of all, getting kills wont make you win the match, but it will help completing objectives witch are necessary to win the game. what i know is that SD wouldt make this game as "just another shooter" so what would make this game like just another shooter? team death match with a scoreboard of most kills and assists. so it would make sense if kills arent showed on the scoreboard. and also kills wont make you earn as much XP as the objectives will. if you are worried about buying this game cause of that, dont buy it :)

If you're on the defending team, and you manage to kill your enemies enough without focusing on objectives, then yes, you will be able to win. But the attackers are always going to have victory based on objectives, so unless you do the objectives, you'll never have victory.

If your teammates really are that stupid, then you're going to have 2 possibilities.

1. Your team loses.

2. You CoD-mates are going to draw enough enemy attention to leave the objectives open to you.

I have a feeling that the Brink missions will have elements of every mainstream game type you have played. Whether it is TDM, CTF, HQ, Dom, Ect, both the primary and seconday objectives will have you doing the same actions you did in the mainstream game types.

Please read and reread the Brink Compendium. It's the orange link in my signature.

You seem to be outrageously confused about BRINK, and hardly grasp its attempts to break free of the FPS norms set forth by Call of Duty.

EDIT: beung, you too. The whole point of BRINK and "Revolution begins May 10th/13th" is to kill the mainstream norms.

Actually I think he's got a pretty good grasp of what the setup is. They are the same basic actions you take part in in other games, but instead of having a game type for each they are all pressed into one game type.

Not break free of, but progress.
This game incorporates countless game mechanics CoD has. What BRINK does, is take all of them to the next level. It's not reinventing the wheel.

Implying that "real" men and women do everything for the XP?

The XP rewards are a guide for players that need help/incentive/instruction to find what will benefit the team. There are a multitude of things that will benefit the team that won't neccesarily give an XP bonus.

Yes, pretty much what everyone has already said.

You gain XP for getting kills, and bonus XP for killing someone who is performing a offensive objective, cause you get defensive XP. However, performing objectives, chosen from the in-game cycle menu., will get you more XP.

The only way to win via kills, is to be playing defense, and prevent any offensive objectives.

Hopefully, this helped.

what Wraith said but Brink is many game modes in 1 pretty much: Domination, Capture Command Post, CTF, Escort/Vip, Demolition, Attack/Defend, ETC its like a magical game that combines everything we love into a awesome game, and also Objectives give way more XP then killing
