Sample size of 1000 people? Fail poll. I have little to no respect for polls of any sort, gaming or political or whatever, because they all seem to have convinced themselves that 1000 people are representative of the opinions of 350 million. Or more if it's an international poll. So yeah. It's a fluff piece and nothing more. Slow news day or something.

seems like an extremely casual list. I'd be surprised if anyone in the survey even knew what TES was.

Killzone is HUGE. So is MK, and I find it pretty lol to call a hardcoe MK player casual because they take it as seriously if not more so than most TES fans take TES. I never see any "Elder Scrolls Tournaments" :P

And hey I play Pokemon! *throws down gauntlet* Thems fightin werds!

I don't know, maybe they didn't do a sociological true research. I have no term of comparison how big the Tes fanbase is compared to other games. I guess it's more popular in the USA. I never met a Tes fan so far, although I know enough gamers at school, at work, I even made some Tes-related remarks in my WoW guild and nobody knew what I was talking about.

That poll is screwed up, or whatever you want to call it. NO WAY can pokemon beat Skyrim, Portal 2, or The Witcher 2.

I could see Rage getting a larger overall following for obvious reasons

Id Software, Doom, Quake. Vast consensus likes these. :P

people actualy care about mortal combat?

It's Mortal Kombat. I do, as it's heavily based on the old games which I spend a fortune on in the nineties in the arcades. Trying out new juggle combo's in MK2 on another player was awesome. Together with Skyrim and Uncharted 3 it'll probably be the only games I'll be buying this year.

That list is just terrible. :banghead: It simply doesn't represent gamer's most anticipated games.

I don't want to say that this poll is a paragon of survey design. But I'm curious about all the people who seem to be suggesting that the poll just couldn't be right, that there are so many other games more anticipated.

Well, how do you know that? Did you do your own survey?

Here's an alternative explanation: the poll is reasonably accurate; the reason why people find it hard to believe is because they encounter a largely unrepresentative body of opinion - they tend to read magazines or websites which have similar tastes in games to theirs, or they talk to people who have similar tastes in games to theirs, and so on.

How do you rule out that option?

Just read http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/33076/Survey_Shows_Gears_Of_War_3_As_Most_Anticipated_Purchase_In_US_UK.php about the most anticipated games of 2011 - Skyrim doesn't even make the top 25 - I don't get it!

I thought there was a real buzz for this? The Gameinformer Hub had a huge number of hits.

It's on my list of purchases anyway :)

Never heard of gamasutra but Skyrim already made PCgamers most anticipated game of 2011.

I am only going to buy two games this year. Shogun II: Total war to start this year and Skyrim to end this year :)
Both are not on the list but I don't care. Lists are stupid...
:P

Exat same here. Shogun got a 92 from PCGamer or something but probibly woudnt make it on here because its Pc only, for skyrim i have no idea why its not on here.

This article is just as much of a troll as the first article, it said:

But it has Modern Warefare 3 up there, and both games were released at around the same period, but COD has a lot more clones than DA's DLCs.

yea, I dont know why anyone would be anticipated for another cod game, its the same as anyother cod game.
just different killstreaks and a horrible singleplayer mode, woopee.

gears of war? really? those games svck

TM or Skyrim should be first.

also, Pokemon, MK, Batman, FF, Star Wars, and Need for Speed are on there twice, so as far as im concerned Skyrim is in there. black and white arent different enough to be considered different games, and being on different systems doesnt make them different games either, theyre the exact same thing.

also, bioshock shouldnt be there, its 2012 not 2011.

i guess what im trying to say is, that list svcks.
