Where can I find more information on the culture and ways and lore of the Nords? Any personal input or personal information is also welcomed.

I have always been fond of http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/aldudagga.shtml, which not only shows the long-time feud between Alduin (Nordic aspect of Akatosh) and Mehrunes Dagon, but also has a great deal of Nordic "flavor" to it, including, but not limited to, speech patterns and cultural expressions.

You might also want to check the information on Skyrim in the http://www.imperial-library.info/pge/ and http://www.imperial-library.info/pge3/ Edition of the Pcoket Guide to the Empire, as well as books like http://www.imperial-library.info/mwbooks/children_sky.shtml.

In addition to reading, I would make sure to visit the town of Dagon Fel, all of Solstheim (Bloodmoon Expansion), and for extra credit, walk around the roads near Caldera and stop in the Lizard's Head tavern in Vivec, Telvanni Quarter.

The Great, Mighty Nords came from Atmora and were one of the first races to inhabit Tamriel in Skyrim!

recent history has them capturing Solsthiem and removing the fort.....

Except I find that a bad rumor from OB. The Skaal and the nords of Thirsk did not really care for the imperials. Instead, I think it was the nord mercenaries, disguised as Skaal in that one mission. And, well, the report got twisted from a group of false Skaal nords attacked Raven Rock to nords destroyed Raven Rock.

If Imperials started expanding on the island, they would have started to care. We also don't know who has become the new Chieftain, maybe someone warmanger. A lot could have happened in these 5 years betewen MW and OB.

We don't necessarily know its the Skaal. Could be a Skyrim enterprise. Removing the imperial fort might be through any number of coercive means, it doesn't have to be a war.
