so far as I heard there is no weather, just the same day/night cycle as Fallout 3

but that′s me.

Weather is confirmed to not be in FNV. They said it in an interview some time ago.

Kinda sad though, is there any reason as to why there are no change in weather?

in those cases it′s either

A: engine can′t support it

B: devs simply don′t find that the work versus the reward in gameplay is good enough.

I dunno. The rain in Oblivion was allright, not the best rain as it glitched through some roofs and all but still.

Ya, they said in one interview the most "weather" there will be is dust storms... although Jacobstown could have light snowfall >_>

Oblivion's rain was a bit too often, but once in awhile was a nice change of pace. I agree rain doesn't need to be complex to include. Just a few layer walls of animated rain, a layer of puddle splashes and maybe map out the roofs from rain fall.

In the end though, if given a choice, I'd pick a sunny day 90% of the time.

I hope there is a bit of weather, but like someone said it shouldn't happen all the time...

I'm thinking it's mostly because the weather doesn't change here in sunny Las Vegas. Seriously, we have 2 types of weather, hot and hotter. That's not to say it never rains, but it rarely does. Although I did see it snow once, which was a trip.

I do hope there are changing weather patterns in the next Fallout. Perhaps they can do something like what P.D. did with GT5, that would be pretty sick.

But... You have wind right? Like... Strong wind? And... Hmm... Around the Jungle Vault there could sometimes be mist right?

acid (radiation) rain would make hardcoe mode a lot more challenging and tactical

Well, it is the desert, so rain should be very rare. So rare in fact that if it was in the game I'd rather it be triggered as a random encounter rather than be something built into the game world's formula.

Dust storms will be cool though, if they're in.

It's not unrealistic. I doubt the weather changes much in the mojave.

OT: Uuuuhmmm... Weathering- breaking down of rock into finer peices. *sarcastic clapping* But weather sounds like an alright idea, I don't see why, throughtout the entire Fallout series, there's only been one reference to it raining that I can think of...

Well, the engine supports weather, as you can see in Oblivion. Also, some modders have implemented weather. But I think it's just something that would be hard to make and it wouldn't make a big difference.

Yeah, that's one thing I won't miss when I move back to Michigan, the wind. I don't easily frighten, but it's been bad enough here I was really spooked, and I've been through tornadoes back in Michigan.

It's also quite possible that it doesn't rain anywhere in the Fallout universe, a side effect of the near total destruction of the entire planet.

As I said before, I'd really enjoy changing weather if it was done the same way it's being done in GT5. There's a chance for all types of weather, but never guaranteed weather. The randomness would go a long way to helping immersion.

And, when it does rain, the storms do not last that long, maybe 30 to 60 minutes, although 15 is quite common for most showers. Which with game time being what it is, this would be a splash of rain on the screen and it would be over before you realize it even started.

Nah I remember that somewhere in fallout 2 there's a guy saying something along the lines of "Ever seen the rain? It's glow lights up..." then I don't remember anything more...
But the guy could have been crazy or something.
Hmm, let's hope someone who knows his bits around science comes in here: Would radiation actually stop rain from ever falling?

The engine can handle raid there is a mod for fallout that adds rain and storms and lightning.

Problem is it looks rather bad when its raining AND the ground is still dusty and dry... They would realy need two sets of ground textures maybe evedn 3 to realy make rain anything other then a badly done mess.
