I think explosives would be a little thin w/ out em. Launchers and C4 only?
I get where your comin from though, but when they condense skills there's always gonna be some stuff that isn't logical. Though it does tighten up the game a bit.

But I think Throwing could do without grenades anyway.
Could be three different kinds of throwing knifes, 1 bad 1 average and 1 finely crafted.
Tomahawks, two kinds.
Rocks, different sizes.
Throwing spears, sharpened stick and one with an actual blade on the end.
A jar of acid.
A vial of paralyzing gas.
A bladed boomerang looking thing.
Spikeballs. (Balls with nails or spikes sticking out of each side.)
Exploding knifes which first pins to the object thrown at and then after a 4 second delay go off.
Maybe a throwing knife that once it penetrates the skin it starts to eject plasma or just acid.
I think that a Throwing Skill could have lots of potential weapons for it.
Hell, we could even pick up random stuff, like chairs, glasses, beer bottles, canned food etc
Excluding the Exploding and plasma knifes, yes the skill would be worse when compared to EW, Guns or Explosives.
But remember that Melee is superior to Unarmed, hell, every combat skill is better than unarmed.
So it's not about how good the weapon skill is but rather allowing us the option to roleplay as a person who can't keep stuff in his hands for longer than 10 seconds.
