Disappointing Day

Post » Tue Jul 06, 2010 9:06 pm

my great-grandma just died... I know you guys are going, "well it's your GREAT grandma. come on man!" but I actually grew up with her being happy and healthy. We went to her house every year for thanksgiving when I was growing up.. I'm sad but even sadder for my mom. It was her grandma and she has been really bummed the last couple of days. Just kind of hard to deal with deaths. And this has been the only death that I have known about ever since I was 5. Its tough, but life goes on i suppose.

It's never easy losing someone (no matter how old they were) especially if you're pretty close to them. Most recently my grandmother passed away and it was really tough. Then a few months later we had to put our dog down as well. As my sister said, "it's tough when your grandma and your dog dies both in the same year"

My condolences to your family. :hugs:

Well, after reading Septimms post, I feel considerably better about not getting high speed internet now. My condolences for your loss man, I lost my grandmother 4 years ago due to dementia, it was really rough.

So, today was a very disappointing day. I've spent the last several days talking to people from Comcast, who assured me over and over again, that they carried high speed cable service where I'm at(The reason why I called, is because a buddy of mine got cable through them even though their site tool said it didn't reach him, so I decided to call). So, I had my order # and everything, went into my local Comcast office today, and was told almost instantly that service is in fact, NOT carried out to where I live. I was so pissed, had my hopes up all high and everything that I would finally be getting off this infernal dial-up, only to have them dashed in a single moment.

Comcast did that to us too, many years ago, when we were looking to go from dial up to something faster. We had a guy from Comcast actually at the house and he looked and said "oops, nope." So we used this half-speed DSL for a few years until Comcast finally actually did reach our house. Comcast is full of morons...but we continue to use them since they're pretty much a monopoly here (unless you go satellite).

My disappointing day (which was technically yesterday at this point) was watching the Boston Redsox embarrass themselves mightily, losing 16-5 against the Rays. I'd like to punt Dice-K back across the ocean and shove a baseball into Lackey's constantly gaping yapper. Most of the offense has been embarrassing as well, it's not just the pitchers. What is wrong with this team, stop svcking this bad, please. SIGH. :)

My dad signed me up for a scuba course (lolnonrefundable!) after I told him 20 times that I didn't want to do it and I find aquatic life disgusting.

Also, slow internet. It svcks. I haven't tried plugging directly into the boxamajig yet.

Oh and getting ready for my 24+ hours of travel time then looking at my plane ticket and seeing economy class. :sadvaultboy:

Not disappointing, but I woke up to my roommate's dogs [censored] all over the rug in the living room. After picking it up and spraying it, when I went to wipe it up, I knelt in pee that I didn't see.

...Then I forgot my sub at home that I was gonna eat for lunch.

I don't have anything that's particularly sad, it's just that it got me a little pissed :P One of my friends I usually hang out with had this party at his place, and had invited a girl who I was interested in and the chance of us hooking up was pretty big, but alas, I did not receive an invitation :banghead: It's not that big of a deal, but it's the only thing I got right now

You know I've done the exact same thing

The only difference is the dog is my sisters and not my roommate's

Lol at the smiley matching your avatar.

Ok, continuing my day:
- First the dog incident
- Second, left my sub at home
- Third, Lost my phone between my car and my desk (still haven't found it yet)
- Fourth, Had to unclog the toilet before I was able to use it this morning
- Fifth, The project I've been working on at work all day has been "2 steps forward, 1 step back".

It's just been one of those days. It is my roommate's birthday today, so I'm hoping there will be drinking and video games to help end my day on a high note.

I usually have annoyingly good days.

But today was just awful for me. Girlfriend problems. Everyone know what I'm talking about. :'c

Went to the PX at lunch they had a Mosin-Nagant in excellent condition. Didn't get it at lunch, waited until after work and someone bought it between then. I saw it wasn't in the display case and it instantly felt like someone kicked me in the groin..I was so disappointed I talked about how I was glad I saw it there during lunch when I was just talking about my collection of WWII stuff.

It is seriously the most disappointing thing thats happened to me in a long time.

When my manager at my job calls me 7am to come in to work even though it's my day off and been working 5-6 days in row. I need to rest.

That's not as bad as being halfway to work in my gas hog truck just to get a text...yes a [censored] text...from my boss saying I don't need to come in today the work is too slow. That's on top of only working three days a week...
