This is my first post here, I wanted to download daggerfall and try to play it, I played Morrowind and Oblivion to death on the xbox, and always wanted to get Daggerfall when it was released years ago, I actually got a demo of it in a computer magazine..

anyway, is the link broken? I get to the screen where it says the download should begin in 5 seconds, nothing happens, so I click the link below which looks like it's tied to the DFinstall.exe and it takes me to a white screen saying sorry that bandwidth is being taken up by people downloading fallout 3 patches and wants to re-direct me to a site where I can get the F3 patch, lol.

it says the re-direction is temporary and should have been ended on the 8th of this month, I guess I'm being a little impatient because it's only a few days past then, but I was hoping it may have been an oversight..

anyway, I'll keep checking back and can't wait to try it out. cheers.

I was going to re-download it since I wanted the get it but I also got that, luckily for me I found it on my PC. Should be up soon, with lots of people visiting the site due to new vegas it'll probably last a few more days at least.

Gotta love how Bethesda just lets the Elder Scrolls site fall apart. The Oblivion DLC website has been out of commission for several years now as well.

EDIT: Maybe it's just me, but the Bethesda download works fine for me. It may be worth mentioning that your URL has a forward slash at the end of it, which may be messing it up on your end depending on browser. :shrug:

I clicked Alador's link. Works fine for me. I remember trying to download last week and failing due to the error described here. Bethesda must have seen this thread and fixed it.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I've wanted to play Daggerfall FOREVER but I couldn't ever find it anywhere. I'll try the download links hopefully they will work and I wont get a virus. Gotta say that Fileshack makes me more paranoid then usual and if you knew me you'd know that's bad. The other link doesn't give me a site but it has Bethesda on it so I'll try that one first. I'll let ya know if they work.

Why does the download of the link "still broken" say on the file .part
does this mean it is only part of the game and not all of it?

I tried the "still broken" link and the download didn't pose any problems; However, I did NOT install anything from the download and instead removed in from my computer. I scanned all the files inside and didn't find anything but I didn't trust it. I did a bit of surfing and found a place http://www.gamershell.com/download_48334.shtml this download also did not have any problems and the scan didn't turn anything up. I suggest using the gammershell download found on this page if your in the USA since kyrt.com has a bad reputation and your likely to get a virus or phishing. I'm going to install this download and test it. If I find any problems I'll let you know.

Note: Since I have NOT yet tested this download I CANNOT guarantee that it isn't infected with something. Use at your own risk.

Probably my last reply. As far as I can tell there is nothing wrong the the daggerfall download. I haven't even installed it but I have thoroughly scanned it. The reason I haven't installed it is because I have no idea how to use dosbox.

One can look into one of these two instructions for how one can install Daggerfall and the use of DOSbox in the beginning of the instructions:
