First off it might help to know that I'm currently running on Windows 7 32.

Anyway, I've tried using every EXE file that came with the download but none of them are working. When I try to run the install it tells me that this system does not support fullscreen mode. I try to ignore that and move on but it simply closes the program...

Does anyone know how to get around that? I'd really like to be able to play...

Also: Am I doing it right or am I trying to install it in the wrong way?

Did you follow the instructions that were on the download page? They tell you what to do.

And if you search, or maybe look over the threads on the front page, you'll find a link to the instructions Taemos posted.
