Contests Bethesda Could Host

Post » Thu Jul 15, 2010 2:40 am

Everyone on these boards wishes they could "contribute" in some way to The Elderscrolls 5.
So, I don't see a reason Bethesda shouldn't let us! Specifically, through contests. Such as

Art Contest: A TES related painting/drawing/3d sculpture. Winners get their art placed somewhere in the game.
Short Story: Write a short story set in the TES universe. Winners get their story placed as a book/series of books in the game.
3d modeling: Create a 3d model/texture set of a melee weapon. Winners get their item placed as a unique weapon in the game.

That's all I can think of, I'm sure you guys can think of more though! Oh, and of course all winners a get a free copy of the game :celebration:

Signed. Don't forget signed.

I would actually love to see that. I'm sure I could rustle up a short story :read:

An art contest for propaganda posters would be very fun, I'd like to see another perk contest like they had with FO3.

How about designing an NPC personality, back story, race, features, clothing, etc and whoever has the best one wins some kind of prize and has their character featured in the game.

That could work. I've been scarred by Fable's abysmal Villager Creator though... but I guess as long as it was just one NPC and it was in BGS' capable hands it could be cool...

They'd have to sift through a hell of a lot of Mary Sues to find some interesting ideas though

I would love something like this, but not for art/drawing. I can't do any of that. I would love to submit come lore conspiracies/speculation in the form of short stories into a contest, however.

That's the same for every contest.

My own idea was a short story competition, where you would write a book like one you would find in a game. The prize would be either the book appears in the game (if it doesn't conflict with lore and, obviously), or if it does a signed copy of the game's special edition. I'd been kicking it around for a while, but looks like I wasn't the only one thinking along those lines.

Well it doesn't have to fit with lore some of the books in morrowind and Oblivion were fiction within the game.
