Torches - is there a mod that gives them weight?

Post » Wed Jul 21, 2010 9:22 pm

It feels a bit absurd carrying around 10s or 100s of torches.

Is there a mod that simply adds weight to them (and is compatible with OOO)?

thx :)

If you don't want to go into the Construction Kit yourself you can use this

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16282

You set the weight in the ini file.

Cheers!

Hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread Robynah; I've been wondering is there a mod that makes torches expire? (go out after a set period of use so they don't last forever). (Compatible with OOO drop torches)

Torches do expire. It's just OOO mods them so they last a very long time. Maybe the mod locksley mentioned lets you set that, I'm taking a look now (ty locksley).

Nope it doesn't.

It lets you set the weight, gold value and light radius of torches.

Worth mentioning that TIE also gives torches weight and cuts way down on how long they last. They even get a small amount of value so they're worth selling if you find enough of them :)

I don't know of a mod that does it but if you're familiar with the CS it will probably only take the best part of 30 seconds.

Yeah - I edited the Drop lit torches to cut down the burn time. Asked if TheNiceOne could add info on time left on display stats, but I am not sure you can extract that data when in the game?

Nah I find the CS along with TES4Edit scary places lol. No but seriously I don't feel competent enough to be monkeying around with all that. I still need to read the FO3Edit Training Manual for cleaning plugins

Well, if you're interested I just made one. Does 0.2 sound good for its weight? Because I can stick it on TESnexus if you want (even though I've never done it before...scary).

If you could make a mod that has torches at 1.0 weight and lockpicks at 0.1

that would be ideal for me :)

I had a look in the CS but I have no clue how to create a plugin (is it save difference?).

Open Oblivion.esm in CS.

Change torches as you see fit. Save plugin.

I'll do that. Shouldn't take too long. In all honesty I'd quiet like tu use it myself, but isn't 1.0 a torch a bit much.

Anyway, I'll get back to you soon.

Oh what a disaster a double post.

Anyway, I've made and uploaded this miniscule mod, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=32496. I was indeed out of inspiration for a name.

Delte requested something similar a good while ago so I made this tiny plugin for him:

Besides adding weight, it also uses Frugal's drop function and makes the torch a little brighter for people that use one of the darker dungeon mods.
