Payed and free DLC

Post » Tue Aug 03, 2010 10:57 am

My question to you guys is: what kind of DLC do you expect for Brink?

Do you expect that we will get free maps but paid for skins? Or no DLC at all?

Or something completely different?

Speculate away to pass the time

(also first post on forums, wohoo)

DLC is 100% sure to come, as SD said they'd be following this game intesively and that they had a system in BRINK that allowed them to make major or minor changes to the game easily.

I think we might be seeing more maps in the future if they really want to push post-release support. Maybe they'll add in some downloadable weapons and optional character creation options too. I hope it's not all paid DLC though. The little 200 MSP things are all fine and good, but paying just to play what everyone else does is underhanded garbage.

If you are expecting a DLC, that means there will no SDK or Modding Tools until a while AFTER the DLC release. This, is bad news for BRINK. Puts money in Bethesdas pocket, but leaves the community dying if they don't release it soon.

The NECVAR system allows them to change simple things (stats for weapons, abilities, challenges) without rolling out large patches. No actual content.

Really? I thought they said major things as well.

Or maybe I imagined it... 8-)

Me myself Im actually hoping they will release an sdk but still update the game with free 'official' content.' so DLC doesn't necessarily mean no modding.

I would guess we would see some more customization/outfit options for sure. You know the die hard will eat that up and it should be very easy to put in.

Welcome then Potlood.

As i say, when it comes to DLC (Mod tools or not..) my first thought is FREE DLC.
We must show we want free DLC..

Other than that DLC's are pretty standard and common nowdays, maps, weapons and such are always welcome and yes,the release of Software Development Kit would be the best "gift".

Noooooo! SDKs make me jealous of my lack of a good enough computer to play it on :P

But seriously, I'd love more DLC always do, I wouldn't really want to pay for stuff like maps or more gear though.... as it really is quite easy to make. I'd happily pay money for more missions and stuff though, something that requires a bit more time put in to it.

If you're on X360, not on console in general.

I'm sure they will release new maps or even new modes, later on. The cosmetic stuff can wait though.
