Screenshots of the Volcanic Tundra

Post » Sat Aug 07, 2010 10:00 am

This week's hike led me to a mountain, which had fallen prey to a massive forest fire a few years back.

The current state would be excellent inspiration for the volcanic tundra environment of Skyrim.

That's the point, it's bleak.
Of course not ALL of Skyrim, just the Volcanic Tundra.

Nice pictures!, better than the scrub you se when hiking around here, good for certain areas, not all of Skyrim as you said

I think if a section of map looked like that it would be awesome. Just say that dragons scorched a forest that used to be there.

I hope the devs pay attention to these hike threads of yours. This stuff is good  .
Not all of the landscape has to be epic and eye-poppoing. A few good small helpings of austere winter wastelands here and there would make it feel a lot more believable.

I agree (or else I wouldn't be making these threads), but sadly it's probably too late for much of it to seep into the game.

Though, hopefully with expansions, or future games the devs will keep it in mind.

i dont think there will be whole areas that look just like that, more likly we'll see a terrain texture like that which will appear now and again. as easy as it would be to create a region of empty space, I don't think their going to take that shortcut.

Canada, mate.

The westernmost province, to be more specific.

More great images. :)

When I saw a region of Skyrim described on the map as volcanic tundra, I was really pleased. It's the perfect landscape in which to battle a dragon, too...

OK, thanks for the info! :)

And it does look beautiful. I would love it if the volcanic tundra looked similar to this.

It's great to know if at any point in the next 9 months I can't wait for Skyrim, I can just run around outside with one of my daggers.
