Undead creatures mods

Post » Fri Aug 13, 2010 3:10 pm

Ive seen some mods like Frans and OOO that add a lot of new monsters (mostly retextured creatures IMO; feels like Diablo) but what Im really looking for is a mod like The Undead mod for Morrowind that adds only new types of undeads like skeleton archers & mummies, are there any mods like that for Oblivion?

Just curious, have you used OOO or are you just speculating? I can't speak to Frans as I don't use it, however I do use OOO and Diablo is definitely not how I'd characterize it. (I hated Diablo with a passion)

As far as your request, I can't say that I've actually seen any. But never looked for them specifically. I know there is a Haunted House mod by WillieSea that is suppose to be pretty good. Also a Dark Chapel/Unholy Chapel? I can't remember the exact name that looked like it had some pretty good undeaders to play with.

You might try Meogron knights which I use and like a lot. It does add variations of zombies, skeletons, etc with new armor and so on. No mummies unfortunately.

There's a healthy variety in OOO and MMM, I think. What level is your character? I'm level 10 and only now am I starting to see more than just your standard Skeletons and Ghosts.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22925 has a bunch (20) of "horror" creatures, many of which are undead looking ones. Infact, the undead ones tend to be the most original looking ones in my opinion. I think it places them randomly in a field near bravil though, and I haven't been able to determine whether they are a resource or not, as the modder in question has not replied to a PM I sent him, and I don't think they've been included in any other mods.

Well if you want undead, your best bet is probably http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1091526-relzmartsmonstermod37b3-public-release-3-relz/page__hl__martigen

It adds a huge amount of variety to the undead. Adds a couple of new creatures, zombies from different races and skeletons with varied equipment. Also, you'll occasionally come across roaming bands of skeletons terrorizing the countryside. It makes a lot of other changes, most of which are optional. (Improved AI, adds quite a few new creatures and a wounding system)

But since you say you don't want something like Diablo, maybe you should try looking for a good quest mod instead.

Edit: WOW, that horror mod looks amazing and hilarious, Filthy Spaniard. Slaughter-Mermaid? Awesome and scary. The skeleton-shark... well, it sounds cool until you see the picture...

Thanks for your responses, what I meant about Diablo is that you would fight a green imp, then a blue imp then a red imp, basically the same creature with higher stats along witha diferent color. I dont want that I want maybe the same base creature, for example a skeleton, but perhaps one is a skeleton archer or another is a skeleton warrior, thats why I mentioned the Undead. I havent tried Horror house but it looks fun. i have heard of MMM but never actually tried it, and will take a look at it

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26634 is cool, as it adds Argonian skeletons and Hel Borne's creepy Orc and Argonian zombies to the game along with Dunmer and Altmer-colored zombies. Not to mention, lots of "pretty" rat varieties! I use it along with FCOM, and seems to work alright.

Last custom work I did for someone was a Khajiit zombie head. Never seen it released though. They may have rejected it,

I have been meaning to upgrade some of MMM Undead Zombie Race with your models. Was I the one who asked that undead Zombie head?

You may like WarCry

http://www.worldofelderscrolls.de/?go=dlfile&fileid=12

You can watch a trailer first to decide if want to download the mod.

edit:
It's actually an overhaul not a simple mod which just adds new monsters so it may change game too much than you like to. How it compare to other overhaul can be seen here:
