Jeremy Soule's TES music on piano

Post » Sat Aug 14, 2010 9:34 am

For quite some time I've been making piano transcriptions of Jeremy Soule's music from Morrowind and Oblivion, and lately - Skyrim. I try to stay as true to original sound as possible on piano, with exception of Morrowind theme, which I transcribed long ago and that sounds quite nice as it is although I changed register in certain parts.

All of this started as a sort of answer to many transcriptions that have already been posted on YouTube. I noticed that most of them, although sounding quite nice, had many errors in chords and even melodic motion. There even was some dude who was selling sheet music of his transcriptions. So I felt that maestro Soule deserves a more respectful piano tribute for his excellent work on TES soundtracks. And that's how I started making my own transcriptions with free sheet music for each of them.

You can listen to my transcriptions on YT here: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A5A5D4E3CAA7A52A
Unfortunately, sound, and even more - video quality is somewhat lacking due to poor recording equipment I have. But I dare say that transcriptions themselves and my performance are quite worth listening to.

Sheet music is available from our Russian TES website ElderScrolls.Net here: http://www.elderscrolls.net/files/
Obviously, it's in Russian, but you can simply look for lines mentioning my nickname and press the music notes icon next to it to get the score. Or simply look into the video description for direct link.

Those are all very good! Probably the best rendition of Reign of the Septims I've ever seen.
