path of iron vs path of the spirit ?

Hi all,

What's the reward of OOO's path of iron ? Is it 100% incompatible with getting the Oghma Infinium and taking the path of spirit ? (which is pretty powerful for mages like me because of the +10 willpower).

Is there any other FCOM quests where you have to choose between 2 ways ?

Yes the path of iron is completely incompatible with getting the getting the Oghma Infinium.

As well it should be, in my opinion. There are far too few choices with consequences in this game. I'm glad some real RPG aspects are added by OOO.

If you take the good Path of Iron path you get some great Paladin Armor (in my avatar at the time of this post, though my avatar may change in the future). There is also the matching sword (claymore) that is fit for a paladin. You also get the satisfaction of helping him out with his grief, versus trying to make him more miserable over the loss of his wife if you take the other path.

So help a good guy out and get a nice set of Paladin Armor and Sword.

Or make him even more miserable for some extra stats.

It all depends I think on whether you want to be caring or selfish. One or the other.

As I'm playing a light armor character I have no real need for OOO Path of Iron;
Also players who skip Molag Bal daedric quest don't get "Mace of Molag Bal" which is needed in Midas Magic Spells (If I'm not wrong).

Well, I personnaly prefer heavy armors over light armors ! Anyone knows the stats of the armor you get when you complete the Path of Iron ? I'm curious if it could beat the path of spirit.

I go for a mix usually, just 'cus it feels the most 'adventurery', like in real life if I were to be going around on my own in the dangerous wilderness I'd go with like a heavy chest, heavy gauntlets, and light everything else, maybe an interchangeable helmet. On that not, I've got a post to make in the Mod Detective thread.
