During the Alaskan Reclamation, it seems as though the only forces that were present on the battlefield was the United States Army and the People's Liberation Army(and solely in an infantry capacity). Surely the USN, USAF and USMC must have played some role in the conflict(similarly the P.L.A.N. etc...). The question that I was wondering was were there any significant naval engagements, dogfights or marine landings during the conflict?

To me it just seems rather odd, that though the US Military could field modern powered armor, there seems to be no presence of field artillery, air support or any combat support elements to speak of?

Well the US Power Armor held up against the Chinese weapons, and armor. So their was no reason for artillary etc. Thats just how I took it anyway.

my guess would be the parts we see in operation anchorage were just small scale skirmishes, and not the full reclamation, becuase surely china would bring in more than infantry and 3 artillery pieces, it would bring in hundreds of tanks, artillery, IFVs, helicopters, ships, and planes, etc. The US would have to respond to this amount of military hardware with a equal or greater amount, say what you want about power armour but it probably cant take on battalions of heavy tanks, or helicopter gunships.

The Operation: Anchorage simulation is not an accurate representation of the reclamation. This is even stated in-game, as in one of the terminals a technician says that Chase's modifications have nothing to do with facts.

Well Power Armor was built to take alot of beating, and I think is says somewhere on Fallout Wiki, that Power Armor could stand against a tank shell or something like that? Anyway what I'm getting at is its not impossible to think that the US put its military might behind the newly built Power Armor.

and the navy was involved, but not immensely since it was a land based defense

I thought they were chinese bombers, because theyve got a red star on them, and the same plane can be seen in a chinese propaganda poster.

The liberation of Anchorage was the last stage of the Alaskan Reclamation.

It seems that the Chinese lost most of what they secured in Alaska when the T-47d was introduced in the battlefield but managed to hold in Anchorage, considering the USA invaded mainland China before they liberate Anchorage it seems liberating it was already secondary (and they really did not needed it that badly considering they had the Pacific Oil Rig) so I doubt there was much of a US Navy presence that was too busy defending the Pacific Oil Rig and provide help to the US forces in China and not much of a US Air Force presence since they would not be very useful in helping to secure the city.

Here's the strange thing that doesnt make sense to me. Why the need for oil? In our world fossil fuels are needed for everything, but the Fallout world has access to far more advanced nuclear energy in the form of energy cells and microfusion cells and fusion powered cars. I wonder why that world would feel the need to control a largely (by their standards) inferior resource. I wouldve figured they'd be more interested in uranium deposits. Unless of course the USA was the only country with advanced nuclear technology, though the case can never be made because there is so little info regarding the rest of the world.

while they had the technology for fusion powered cars etc. it still wasn't as widespread as fallout 3 would suggest and so at the time fossil fuel was still important.
and since reserves had been dwindling, who ever had control of it was in a stronger position. (since most of the world actually wasn't as advanced with fusion power)

that's how i always saw it anyway.

Was only the US Army issued power armor, or did the other services also get issued power armor?
