Online item trading idea

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 2:40 pm

I dont know if this would be like a good idea to put in the game, but I thought of having an online trading thing in game where obviously, you buy and sell items (say when you get to a certain level you can unlock the system). In oblivion you could enchant countless pieces of swords and armour and rings and stuff, so putting it in this game may work?

I dont think this will happen, it has already been confirmed that there will be no online, this can kinda just be accomplished with modding, and you are about to get a flood of no's becuase everyone here lives at tenpenny tower

naaa... Bethesda always makes the game self-sustaining. If you did this, people could give obscene quantities of money to other characters and other mishaps.

I kind of like that one or two popular game series are still out there and don't have any online content other than DLC.

This has already been brought up and shot down, multiple times.

I'm going to try and not be a dike but this won't happen. They already said there will be no online of any kind for an ES game ever made by BGS, and they aren't going bankrupt anytime soon. Also, this would only work on consoles and unmodded PC because any PC mod that has a new mesh would have to basically send the weapon mesh, any textures needed, and then either send the mod (including anything else, so trying to sell emerald dust means you just forced someone to download OOO) or just make a new mod, install and activate it (which cannot be done while playing the game).

Also, ES games are about the challenge, the experience. That experience is ruined when you have a very strong/rich character and he sells an item super cheap so your friend can buy it or you can quick load another save game and buy it. It just won't happen.

Edit: We aren't NO trolls. We merely said it won't happen. In fact, you knowing that everyone everyone was going to say no and then commenting on it makes you more a troll/flamebaiter than any of us.

Watch the almost-not-quite-flaming people, please.

If it goes beyond "almost not quite" warnings and posting ability suspensions happen. Usually not a fun time.

It has been said that Bethesda doesn't, and won't do multiplayer. The Elder Scrolls games are intended from the beginning as single player. What Zenimax Online is working on is still unknown, but its a good bet they will be dealing with any online multiplayer stuff.
