FCOM questions

Post » Thu Sep 02, 2010 11:23 am

I installed FCOM this weekend and all went well on the first try using the instructions.

My questions are:

1) If I want to add other non-conflicting mods, do I put them before the bashed patch or after? Does it matter? Do I need to make another bash patch after adding more mods?

I added supreme magicka, a random mod to remove spell effects from my character, SPAM, and a mod to give me less emcumbrance. As far as I can tell they are all working but sometimes I wonder if they could be causing problems and making me miss something.

2) Does FCOM do anything that would cause spell chaining (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Useful_Spells) not to work? It doesnt seem to be working for me.

Thanks!

1) You can use BOSS to sort most mods, not just FCOM. Use that to take care of your load order. Anyway, most mods should load before the bashed patch. You should only run one bashed patch. Whenever you add mods, you have to rebuild it.

2) Spell chaining? FCOM does not do much to the magic system, and a magic overhaul would override it anyway, since those load later than FCOM.

Read these:

Ill check that out. When I opened the Wyre Bash program it looked like it only affected the leveled list for some of the addons so I didnt make a new one.

No...haha. Wrye Bash does not do anything to leveled lists, but the bashed patch can modify them and many other records in tons of ways. Did you follow the FCOM Bashed Patch instructions? If not, that page has the necessary checks listed.
