First off, this is what I'm running:

System

Manufacturer ASUSTeK Computer INC.
Model CG1330
Total amount of system memory 8.00 GB RAM
System type 64-bit operating system
Number of processor cores 6

Storage
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Total size of hard disk(s) 913 GB
Disk partition (C:) 734 GB Free (913 GB Total)
Media drive (D:) CD/DVD

Graphics
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Display adapter type ASUS EAH5450 Series
Total available graphics memory 4083 MB
Dedicated graphics memory 1024 MB
Dedicated system memory 0 MB
Shared system memory 3059 MB
Display adapter driver version 8.740.0.0
Primary monitor resolution 1920x1080

So I'm looking to make it into a bit more graphic friendly, the auto detect on the game puts everything at High settings but it's terribly slow, so any ideas on how to improve so maybe I can actually play it at high? The smoke it a major killer, but I cant find a way to disable it.

What CPU do you have? It may be the bottleneck.

Bottleneck?

Refers to a mismatch inside the computer where slower-speed peripheral buses and devices prevent a component from being used to its fullest capacity...

In other words, you can have a top of the range graphics card, top of the range memory, a 15.4k HDD, best sounds card in the world etc, but if you have a 1GHz single-core CPU, it'll all be moot...they can all only go as fast as the CPU will allow.

run a dxdiag and read off what's listed as the "Processor."

Hes got a phenom ii x6, anyone can find that out googling the model. Upgrading the graphics card should do the trick, what's your budget and what resolution are you playing at?

Further reading shows the PSU might be lacking if it decide to upgrade, I'm at work now on my phone so I can't really research.

ASUS EAH5450 Series

Your graphics card is probably the problem. That's a pretty low end card. Do you have trouble running other games?? You'll either have to buy a new GPU or just live with turning down the settings.

oh, I'm sorry um in game its 1920/1080 is the screen resolution. Depending on the game I have a little trouble. Oblivion gets laggy as hell in the forests but does alright otherwise and Rome and Medieval II run great maxed out, as does Sins of a Solar Empire, but their not as intensive as Empire.

If it's any consolation, ETW is the buggiest game out of the TW series.

Some seriously shoddy work went into that game, and even after tons of patches, it's still pretty unstable.
