Okay, I'm going to ask a rather obvious question; does the train leave the station before you can board and disarm the bomb at all, or do you have to walk toward the front of the train first? Before answering that, let me ask another; how did you handle finding out who the saboteur was? Did you kill him in the control tower before leaving, or did you IMMEDIATELY leave when the quest updated to disarm the bomb? As in, before he even finished talking. The first time I played through I made a huge amount of mistakes (But that's the fun, isn't it? Figuring out what build and what solution to the quest works best?) and one of them was getting caught when he was making his report to the Legion and having to kill him. I had the same problem, the train leaving the station before I could board. And yet, in every game I've played since then, I snuck in and left him alone as soon as the quest updated about the bomb and went directly to disarm it without a hitch. That leads me to believe that the train blowing up might be intentional under the right circumstances, a classic "and the hero arrived just a moment too late" occurrence. Frustrating, if you are such a perfectionist that you absolutely insist on doing every single thing a certain way. Now I respect wanting to play the game your way, but personally I think you're being a bit of a [censored] about this; furthermore, I agree with other posters. If you are so strapped for time that you can't invest any in a game like this, something other people here have done multiple times and over FAR WORSE, ACTUAL bugs, then maybe you need to think about finding a game that fits your oh-so-precious schedule rather than tear into anyone making a legitimate suggestion. If you can find time to start a thread, write out your first post, then check it at least frequently enough to jump down the throat of two people (that I counted at time of posting) because they dared disagree or offer a simple suggestion, you have the motherf***ing time to start over, just like the rest of us peons. Heck, in the time it took me to write this out, I could've been done with Goodsprings and been halfway to Primm. Although to be fair to myself, it only took so long because I had to push myself to be sparing with the (even censored) profanity.
So, in closing before I start ranting, or God forbid lower myself to openly flaming someone, why don't you answer those two questions of mine. If you're getting the "bug" for the same reason I did, well welcome to New Vegas, where unlike FO3 you actually do suffer for the mistakes you make.
