Just a quick post , once I eventually get home from work and download the new patch will I be able to resume from a save that was corrupted due
to the DLC bug ? or will I have to go back to one that works.........ie does the patch fix corrupted saves or just prevent them from happening again.

Word on the street is that, yes, people have had success with loading saves previously messed up by the "DLC" issue. So there's hope. That said, some have expressed complaints that other bugs are still there that were supposed to be fixed by the patch (not large gamebreakers like that but some side quest ones) that may require a full restart of playing. Bethesda's advice is start over after getting the patch, but you should be able to continue a game and possibly even complete it, but there could be some nagging issues that won't go away until you completely start over.

My question is why would I want to bother? After the already less than stellar experiences I have had with this game I have absolutely no wish to go through it all again. If my initial experiences had been more enjoyable I would be alot more inclined to play again, and even purchase the DLC, but as it is my opinions of Fallout New Vegas, Bethesda and Obsidian have forever been tarnished with a thick layer of bugs, glitches and poor PR.

Many will have short memories when Skyrim is released, and rush out to purchase what will in all probability be a colourful coaster, but there will also be alot who remember how the Fallout New Vegas release went down.

Yes, you will be able to load up your DLC bugged saves.

And to the person above me, don't play if you dont want to. I've seen a lot of posts asking the question "why should i play this?" for many different games. The reality is, no one on the internet cares what games you play, or if you are boycotting a game, or anything else along those lines. No one forces anyone to play any game, so just do yourself a favor and play exactly what you want to play. If this game isn't it, not a big deal. This whole realm of gaming is supposed to be about having fun so if you aren't having fun with a particular game, go find one that you can have fun with.
