Or you know you could actually balance the game instead of taking out gameplay mechanics
Certain spell effects could be taken out of the spell making system (there were a few spells you did not have access to in the enchanting altar and a few that were not available at either the enchantment altar nor the spell making altar).
Taking out huge chunks of gameplay mechanics is not the solution to balancing the game.

Gotta agree with this post and Orzorn. If your going to strip down a single player game to absolutely nothing you may as well market it as an "Open World Action Game". I am all for innovation but when you have a system that is fun and doesn't have an on-line impact who cares how you make your spells?? I can follow this up with a famous developer quote. "Dont like it then dont use it".
Now with the chances of spellmaking being removed set at a high percentage(IMO) I start to consider what of value is being added?
Side jobs - Yeah that can be ok if it is built with a lot of depth. We have heard very little about these but I have warning flags about this being terribly shallow.... or it could be just as "game breaking" as the developers and "whiners" claim spellmaking to be.
Perks - Oh boy here we go...... This "Skill Tree/Perk" combo system... It could be spectacular or a spectacular fail. Judging by the set-up and a very good amount of facts this system is going to be trashed by terribly boring and generic perks. Very similar to all of the other terrible games developers want to slap an "RPG" label on. You may have a handful of absolutely unique perks thrown in but since most are "ranked up" you can bet your biscuit that "ranking up" is the equivlant of generic as Tylenol,
Any thoughts or arguments crank it up!
