[REQz] Dead Money Tweak *Spoilers*

I was wondering if anyone would make a little mod that allows you to keep Dean alive even if you insulted him the first time. I would be really grateful, because even though he's a back-stabbing jerk, I still don't want to have to kill him. I'm sure other people feel the same way.

Highlight your Text, click on the "Other Styles" dropdown menu and pick "Spoilers", this will hide your text,
and just show a SPOILER button for those that don't want to see a Spoiler.

Yeah, but seeing as the whole idea is a spoiler, I thought it'd just be better to put a warning in the title.

...Staying on topic, modders don't like to mess with pre-made NPCs because the dialogue and scripts can really get funky. I'm sure it's possible though...

It could always just be a temporary mod. Activate it, talk to Dean, deactivate it, continue. That might get rid of the risk of conflicts, if that was what you were talking about.

If you are going the temp mod rout, then just open the console and resurrect him.

In the end, nothing is gained.

After what he did to Vera and Catherine, you still wanna let him live? After he spills the beans on why he did it, you still wanna let him live?

I fed him some http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Holorifle after he made his big reveal.

I'm trying to reset his dialogue, but he does his first conversation, then runs into a wall. I can't start the next conversation after that.

I thought that the problem with the 'resurrect' command was that all the scripts for that character get stopped and they go into 'sandbox' mode.
IIRC correctly you have to use some startscript command in order to get the character going again.

I'm pretty sure I remember that happening with dogmeat if he got killed and resurrected, his companion script stopped, so
you couldn't recruit him after he got killed until you re-started his script.
Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

@Madcat, I turned him into Swiss Cheese with the Police Pistol,
of course he was running around naked the entire time I was at Sierra Madre, because when I recruited him
at the beginning by the fountain I took his tuxedo, it didn't phase him one bit.

Eh, doesn't matter anymore. His head is currently detached from his body via .357 bullets.
