Fade to black. weird and fatal bug

A very weird, and fatal, bug that is killing my game appeared today. I'm jogging across the wasteland and suddenly my char freezes and the screen fades to black (not unlike fading to black when sleeping indoors, but the fade is slower) :blink:.
The game is still running! I can call the pipboy menu, I still have the HUD and I can switch weapons with hotkeys. I can teleport to another location with COC command but the screen stays black and my stays frozen. I can only reload a save.
this weird stuff only appeared today, but since then happened four times already in different settings. indoors and outdoors.
And I didn't even install any new mods today :shrug: .

Any ideas are welcome, I'm at a loss here.

I'm guessing it's Arwen's mod. I haven't played NV in a while, but I want to say she has the encumbrance script running and that's what's causing a mash up.

Don't quote me on this. Have you tried disabling all mods for the sake of testing CTDs?

ps, CTDs sounds like a sixual disease.

I can't really say anything about Arwen's Encumbrance script, my game-play is such that I never notice any encumbrance restrictions (besides the obvious) and I've been using Arwen's mod for a while.
Also the mentioned bug occurred when I was standing in place too.

My Encumbrance module does not use a fades to black imod, it uses a modified version of the Get Hit imod, which only lasts a second or two. All my script does when you exceed 100 Strain, is it damages your fatigue . . . it doesn't make you unconscious, or black out your screen.

My guess is that you're trying to use my mod with mods that it is not compatible with (like FOOK) . . . and I'm guessing that you've included my esps in your merged patch . . . both of which will cause problems (as I have stated in my mod's ReadMe).

Actually... that's not it at all, I'm not up to date and still using Awern's-1.65 .
when mooguy talked about an Encumbrance module that I remembered nothing about, I went and checked...

I wondered about that, as I didn't see my Encumbrance esp in your mod list . . . but you were both referring to it. Anyhoo, what I posted above still applies: using my Realism Core esp (even my early versions) with incompatible mods and/or including it in a merged patch WILL both cause problems.

Nothing of your mod is included in the FNVEdit patch, I made a WMX-arwen-FOOK patch for myself (just weapons and only the names from FOOK) and until yesterday it was fine. probably because I have quite a few of FOOK's (and yours) features disabled :shrug:.
