Post » Wed Oct 13, 2010 12:05 pm

Hello.

I'm looking for a chat app., pref. web based that has a blackboard feature so I can do work with other people on it.

MSN has this feature but I dont have MSN and its a hassle for me to get it to work. Google had that thing they tried out that, but it was waaayy to buggy and I dont think its around anymore.

Anyone know of any programs or online apps that can do this?

By "black board" do you mean something where you can draw and collaborate with others? Google docs has a drawing feature where you can see what the other person is doing in real time.

By blackboard, are we talking http://www.blackboard.com/ or something generic? if generic, google docs let's multiple people edit a document hosted online on google's servers. If we're talking http://www.blackboard.com/, that would be provided by your uni.

I found http://www.groupboard.com/products/ online, it's pretty simple, and it's free for up to 5 people. They have an online demo up where a bunch of folks draw constantly, it's actually pretty cool.

You can either embed it into a website, or use the url they give you to link directly to it in your bookmarks.

Edit.

I googled "Whiteboard style chat" to find that by the way, might have better luck finding results trying that.
