The mountains will create an illusion that the world map is bigger, just like Morrowind which was significantly smaller in world space then oblivion. Oblivion's problem was people could run in a straight line unstopped, or see the whole map from a high spot which made the world seem small. Also you could say slow running speed also made the world seem bigger.

The dungeons in Oblivion on the other hand, believe it or not, was crafted by ONE guy :P. They've hired a few more people to work dungeons since then, so it should be more varied. :spotted owl:

This, in one of the pics you can clearly see all these path on the Mountains, in Cyrodill they were only mostly on the borders so they sevre as walls, while Skyrim will have this too, there will also be stuff on the mountains to go through and all kinds of twisty paths.

Water can also make a world seem larger come to think of it, because of the big lake in Cyrodill you have to walk around it(though I guess you could swim). Hmmm.

As for the dugeons in OB, that is amazing that they had one dude do like 230 dungeons, no wonder they seem alike. SR has 8 doing about 120.

Not to also be rude but...

If you meant Oblivion, you needed a different phrasing than that.

I think I realize what you were trying to say, but it doesn't come off as that.

" will it have no unique locations like morrowind "

Stating, is it going to have unique locations like morrowind? Or not.
Very simple, what he stated makes perfect sense.

For people who are worried about the map size, play morrowind and you'll see what most of us are talking about.
If you do that,i'll bet you will not be worried about skyrims size.
Morrowind was exellent for giving you the illusion the map was bigger than it really was.
It's not just down to fast travel, the most important part to getting that illusion is map design.

Very true. Oblivion map design was poor. Gothic 3 had great map design(at least for the non desert parts). Though I still felt that OB seem quite large, I like to run around myself or ride, and before someone says riding's is useless in OB you could run faster, there are mods people, please remember that, I play on pc.

One of my biggest complaint about Oblivion was the 'procedurally generated landscapes'. After Morrowind was praised, above all, for it's attention to detail of its gameworld, Oblivion went back to Daggerfall and Arena's design format.
