Daggerfall, temple of kynareth quest, Sasherus

Post » Thu Oct 21, 2010 6:48 am

Okay, I need to find a body, or proof of death, of one of the followers of kynareth, who were sent to the dungeon Sasherus, to investigate a claim of miracle, she hasn't come back, and the priest who sent her fear the worst, so I have to find her.

Only problem is that she isn't there. Sasherus isn't a big dungeon, there's two room, one with a bear and one with a tiger.

anyone know how I can continue the quest?

the woman I need to find is Ysabeth greenton. And all of this is really part of a larger quest about Edwore greenfield who claims to be a prophet of kynareth.

If you have cheats enabled -- and I think they are, by default, and if not there's instructions either on this forum or at UESP for enabling them -- you can press [ and ] to warp between key points in the dungeon, which is where quest targets show up. It's entirely possible that the quest target spawned in an unconnected room or off-map. It's also not unheard of for quest targets to not get spawned at all.

In the upper room you'll find a secret door. Check your map to see it. Down a poorly textured passage you'll find a floating skull. That skull will teleport you to the rest of the dungeon. Oh joy, a teleporter dungeon; hope you have a Recall spell, or it may be rather frustrating!

And by the way, the part of Ysabeth that you'll find isn't very big, so keep your eyes open.

[edit] I really wish people would stop pointing others to the cheats the instant there is trouble. Just because someone can't find something, or doesn't know what to look for, doesn't mean the game is bugged. The whole "quest target is in an unconnected room" is rather uncommon.

Oh, and I'm not directing that wholly at you, MGF ;) But in general, a lot of people seem to do this.

Teleporter dungeons get to be a pain when there are multiple brick doors in one small section.

I knew it had to be a secret door, I haven't got a message about running out of time, so maybe I can go back and get her when I'm done with some fighters guild business. Thanks Jormungandr!

Sometimes, as noted above, a quest object just doesn't spawn in the dungeon. This can often be circumvented by exiting and reentering. It's better to take care of that before exploring the dungeon, though, obviously.

By the way, in that particular quest, it is possible (though not usually) to skip the dungeon if you are famous. One of the characters involved in that quest is a secret member of a faction (never revealed to the player), and if you happen to be a fellow guildsman with standing, that character will expedite your situation in your meeting.

I've learned a repertoire of dungeon blocks, but teleporter dungeons are still a big problem. I've been playing zero-magic, too... and I find that it's just as hard to get out as it is to find the quest object!
