PC Objective Wheel

Post » Sat Oct 23, 2010 7:10 am

I apologize if this has been explained elsewhere, but after searching the info compendiums, watching all the videos, and searching through the forums I haven't been able to find an answer.

As I have Brink pre-ordered over Steam for my PC, I've been curious as to how the Objective Wheel is going to function control-wise for PC gamers. I'm guessing it will be similar to Crysis' suit mode switching (hotkey to bring up menu, mouse movement to rotate the selector), but I'm wondering if there has been any confirmation on such a thing.

On top of that, the D-Pad selection of class abilities is of interest. Again, I'm assuming it will simply be hotkey based, but I'm looking for confirmation.

Thanks for any help!

TAB brings up the Mission-Wheel. And you guess right, I believe, that you use the mouse to select a mission.

Abilities will be on Q, E & X, I guess (completely random).

Ultimately, you can remapp everything to your liking anyway.

Well, I was planning on making Tab my "Objective wheel" key anyway (since it what it usually is for FPS), so I don't mind a bit.

Yep, a recent tweet confirmed that leaning is in.

I'll probably map Q to weapon switch; the abilities to 1, 2, and 3; and leave the wheel as Tab. I doubt lean will be all that useful, so I might just not use it. :P

I've never used lean, but there's no button for it. Instead, you walk up to a wall, use ironsights, and you're able to lean. I think you move while ironsighting the wall to lean, but i'm not sure.

I believe we will have Q and E for leaning, F and G for grenades/abilities and possibly X or C as Objective Wheel hotkey by default. I'll most likely bind it to mouse thumb button or mouse wheel button though.

LEAN in COD is quite useles, i placed different binds on Q and E and don't use it at all. Its totaly useles in COD(Cuz they respawn behind your ass anyway+he dont leans so much as i would like it to) i remember back at old days in F.E.A.R. Combat when leaning was really important tactic...good ol' days....
