OT: Suggestion for ES film...

Post » Wed Oct 27, 2010 12:27 pm

So if they ever did a Elder Scrolls movie I would love to see what Tarsem Singh would do with it. He has a great visual style and seems to like fantasy type settings.. He is also great at finding unique and amazing locations. Many people thought that he must have used to CG landscapes in his movie "The Fall" but they are all actual locations, nothing computer generated. He takes his time doing his projects, not unlike Bethesda.. He is quite the perfectionist.. It might take him 5 years to do the film, but it would be worth it. What do you guys think? Sorry I don't know how to make a clickable link.

I know it's just morrowind, but I feel the need to post it whenever the subject of a TES movie comes up

In my opinion his use of color is unsubtle and it drowns out the rest of the visuals, which is a shame because the cinematography is otherwise quite nice. This style might be alright in a film that is emphasizing the whimsical and fantastic elements of the fantasy genre but I don't think it would work for an Elder Scrolls film, in fact I think it would be even more distracting.

If Bethesda approved an Elder Scrolls movie I'd want something with tighter visuals myself.

Let's please not turn this in to a thread about Tolkien; we're on a forum populated by fantasy enthusiasts - it's just not safe to go there ;)

Guillermo Del Toro. He is making a Cthulhu movie produced by James Cameron. I like him but his sense of humor is... isn't fitting to Hobbit or Elder Scrolls, imo. I want Danny Boyle so... :P
