Aff locks are pretty horrible in PvP right now lol. Your dots get dispelled like crazy, and you're squishy. Not the best spec for it. :P
Right now, PvP is all about burst. Burst burst burst. Fury Warriors literally 3 shotting people with CD's lined up with procs/healer CC, Rets can do the same, so can assass rogues. Boomkins can too, but burst is about the only good thing about Boomkins in PvP right, since they are super RNG with Starsurge procs.

Reason why I hate PvP, burst and stuns/CD's are pretty much the guiding factors to winning. I couldn't believe running arena with our guilds very geared fury warrior literally 2-3 shotting people in arena. Ret paladins are ludicrous now, they're topping damage done as well as having the highest amount of healing done for a DPS class in BG's. I just give up when I get hit with their 5 second stun and I have no trinket because I get rammed by whatever it is now thats giving them such high burst. I have gotten paladins down to 10-15% health while remaining at 70-80% myself then have them stun me and chew through every single point of my health in seconds.

Heirlooms are always scaled to be slightly worse than a blue item at the equivalent level. It's not the heirlooms themselves that can make lowbies insanely powerful, it's high level enchants usually mixed with how they play a class that's very unbalanced at lower levels, like hunters.

Heirlooms are always item level 1 though, so your enchant options for them are sort of limited. On items that are item level 35 and higher you can use TBC enchants and upwards. There are a couple of rare low level items usable in 10-19 brackets that have item level 35, like some white dress you can buy in Moonglade. You can put a TBC resilience enchant on it that can give you around 40% damage reduction due to how well resilience scales at low levels.

I'm almost ready to go back to my hunter, officially the funnest PVP class I've ever played, but I'm trying to hold out til 70 when I can start Arena.

I've got a level 70 troll hunter. I'm thinking about locking xp and doing a few 70 BGs. I've got enough honor left over for about half the entire brutal set. It's such a good class in BGs, I literally killed some poor male Draenei paladin in one hit with a Chimera shot crit.

I'm not even asking to be the almighty kill everyone, I know my role as support DPS/CC, it's just I figured I should be able to do something on my own without fear lasting half a second and not doing anything for me, resulting in quite pitiful deaths. The good parts are I've saved countless people from rogues/paladins/whoever else has ridiculously long stuns with fear, and I mean countless. At the same time fear has helped kill tons of druids/priests/ect who have crazy heals. When I'm paired up with one of the high DPS classes it's a pretty good team. I can sit and follow the flag carrier in Warsong/EotS and use Curse of Exhaustion to cripple them, and mass fear with Howl of Terror is perfect when our FC has tons of people on him.

Still, it's just not enough when I get my ass handed to me over and over and over again.

It's been awhile since I've played really played my Hunter, i.e. not since mana. :P
