[RELz/WIPz] Reneer's Rain Mod

Hi Reneer

I downloaded 0.96 and installed it and I'm using All Natural.

First I put the esp at the end of my load order and when I loaded the game it kept switching from a sunny weather to a rainy one constantly (about every second or two). I fast traveled to Bruma and when I stood next to the chapel the weather stopped constantly changing and stayed raining. As soon as I moved away from the chapel it went back to switching between sunny and raining again. Soon after that I CTD.

Then I moved the esp above All Natural's, loaded the game, the weather switched a few times (every second or so again), then I CTD.
Hmmm. That's odd. I'll look into it - the mod should only be switching the weather back once and then not doing it again.

I'm getting the same bug as Furyfish, though it's not consistent. I find that if I switch repeatedly back between cover and open sky the bug shows up, but otherwise it doesn't. I'm also occasionally getting rain still showing up under cover, however with the new 'rain' mode the mod creates. Also, unlike Furyfish, I never CTD.

Well, I think I have figured out the reason behind the constant "weather switching" and I've fixed it for 0.97. That should be released pretty soon. :)

EDIT: Well, I just tested out .96 and the game crashes shortly after I load a save game. Half a second before the game crashes, the weather turns immediately stormy/rainy. I dunno if load order has anything to do with it, or... I dunno. I have OBSE 18. Anyone else have this problem?

If anyone's having trouble (ie. crashing, freaky weather changes) when using both this mod and All Natural, could you please also post a note saying so in the All Natural thread? It's just mainly to get some statistics on these problems, and to help me find out if there's anything that I can do in All Natural to help prevent these issues, once I get around to taking a look at this mod.

wrinklyninja, the problems were (at least, in my testing, but I haven't tested it with All Natural yet) related to how I figure out if the player is underneath a covering or not. One problem was that a NPC, always placed "behind" the player, would lose sight of another actor (who was up in the air) in circumstances where he really shouldn't (being placed behind walls / boxes, etc). This would cause the mod to switch to its "covered / raining" mode but as soon as the player turned / move a little it would switch back. While this mod and All Natural might still be conflicting (depending on if All Natural continuously forces its weather changes if they are not met, for example) I think 0.97 might, hopefully, fix the major issues that people are experiencing.

Right. Well, in that case AN shouldn't really conflict, but I'll still take a look just in case - if there's anything I've learnt, it's that exceptions are the rule in Oblivion, so it's quite possible that there may be special circumstances in which AN does conflict. That, and it does give me a legitimate excuse to actually try playing the game for a bit. :P

Not yet. There are some remaining bugs that I'm trying to fix, but I just have so little time to do modding anymore plus the fact that, in my mind, RGO takes preference overall. Plus RGO's 4th birthday is coming up soon (!) and I want to do something extra-special for that.
