The Haunted Isle - Necropolis

This will be my first created mod ever, but I have high demands on myself. On day I was searching the net for horror/survivel mods for TES IV: Oblivion, and yes I found some really nice ones but still felt it was too few. So I took up pen n paper and started to brainstorming, I came up with a haunted isle with cemetery, catacombs, caves, villages, chapel and a city - The Necropolis. I have planed for more than one episode, but I'll start with only one episode and I will only be using oblivion standared resources for the first one and move up to customized ones and scripts etc in the other parts. As I said this is my first mod ever. I will make my mod in a dark, gothic, nordic and scary environment, at least that is what I have planed. I will be using alot of already created modders' resoruces and not so many own handcrafted ones, at least for now :)

Important! Do not have too big hopes for this mod to be even released because as I said, this is my frist mod, and I will see how well it goes, it will take a long time for it to be released, if it does. But let us hope it will be released eh? ;)

Features:

New creatures
New armor and weapons
A whole new landmass
Catacombs
A mysterious village
A castle
A unique questline
And a big, big cemetery

Have in mind that maybe some new features will be added or old planed ones will be removed.

Release:

Well I'm not really sure yet, but I'm aiming for a release of the first episode around christmas.

EDIT: Changed planes, it will not be a release till christmas. I took a look at the CS and started a bit with the cave and found out it will take way longer.

And also, feedback is always welcome. Just have two things in mind when you are giving me feedback/or asking questions, my experiance are limited as it is my first mod and I'm working alone, at least during the first episode.

Daedra.

That is ambitious. :)

Sounds interesting, though. I've always liked dark, survival-horrorish stuff. Looking forward to the screenshots down the road. Good luck on your project.

P.S. Don't worry about the CS. It gets easier after you've used it for a while.

I have started to build a huge ice cave, went pretty good, the only problem is to make all the pieces to fit properly together.

EDIT: Ehrr.. I'm not soon done, sorry. But I'm getting closer :P Anyway, I still need help with how to add ambient lights and fog.

Fog can be found in the Object Window under Static -> Dungeons -> Misc -> FX.

You can edit the ambient light in a cell by right-clicking the name of the cell in the Cell View window -> Edit -> Lighting tab. This also lets you set 'fog', which is actually more like 'distant haze'. Good for limiting the rendering in large dungeons to improve frame rate.

To add actual lights, go to Light in the Object Window and drag and drop lights in your cell.

It's probably better to request help on making the mod in the Construction Set Forum. ;)

It's the way all of the pieces snap together, so there's no open spaces between them. The best way to use it when working with a tileset is to go under File -> Preferences and press the button "Snap To Reference", then select the cell your working in and select the reference your trying to snap to (it's best to turn on right after you place your first piece of the tileset). After that point they should all start snapping together perfectly when you have the 'snap to grid' button pressed. I also recommend using 'snap to angle' also, usually set it at 45.

For getting some experience with dungeon- and worldbuilding (which seems pretty important for your mod) I suggest having a look at the http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Portal:Building_and_Editing and some of the tutorials/classes at http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?/forum/81-the-enclave/.
