Real Life Member Meetup

Camping is fun, but I have never considered camping with people I don't know very well in RL.

I like the OP's enthusiasm, but how about baby steps?

A simple barbecue, a meetup at a bar for margaritas, dim sum, pizza and beers, etc. Meeting up in a public place could be fun.

I have been a FARK party in Los Angeles - everyone had a great time, nothing dangerous going on.

If anything I would imagine you would love guns. Your cousin was a hero, he fought and died for his country with guns.

That... doesn't make much sense. One doesn't need a gun to be a hero and frankly while I do think they did the honourable thing by fighting to protect our country I would much rather have them alive right now than them being dead heroes. There's nothing good about dying nor about being dead, no matter how you spin it. It svcks and that's all there is to it.

Don't hate the gun, hate the shooter.

Like I said, I don't hate the shooter(s) and that wouldn't make any sense either. It's already bad enough here as it is, more hatred wouldn't help. The only people who deserve to be hated in that whole stupid war are those who wanted it in the first place and those who committed war crimes, and those come from both sides.

Even if they used a club, blade, or arrow. Its not the weapon, but the person who chose to commit the murder.

It wasn't murder, it was war. I.e., even worse.

Point taken, though. I didn't quite say what I meant. What I meant was "I don't like weapons".

I'm pretty sure the language in that video is not appropriate for these forums.

Sorry, I should've checked to make sure it was the censored version.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283509/ I highly recommend it. It won an Oscar (and many other awards as well).

An armed society is a polite society.

Best line ever. I think I should add that one to my signature.
Also, I can't come to the meetup. I'm too busy doing a secret thing.

There are plenty of meetups on other forums (usually written as meat-up :P), but this is the first one I saw with a Q&A in the opening post.

Oh BGSF.

EDIT: lol at the gun question. Yeah....I wouldn't want to meet up with anyone who brings a weapon with him.

Awesome doesn't describe how awesome it is.

In any case,

I was merely saying that so no one would be like "oooo epic quote man! your a genius"

Now, I think we have gotten off topic.

If I was still in the US, I'd totally go, but to be honest dude, this is a group of gamers. Why not go somewhere that we can all enjoy? Some of us even avoid camping trips with our own families, and this is going to be with a bunch of strangers so... yeah.

Why not all meet up at some nice old family restaurant or something? Better yet, storm Bethesda office building and hold the meeting in their conference room.

With all the gun discussion I am closing this.

Still, as the OP has posted this already on over a dozen other various forums I am sure he will be kept busy arranging his get togethers.
