Falling Block Syndrome

 Hi folks!

As you may perceive from the topic title, and a certain http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/2126/tetrisss.jpg, I've been working on a mod to add Tetris to Fallout: New Vegas. It plays very well and I'm ready to work on the visuals and interaction part...which is why I'm here.

What I've planned so far is to give the player the ability to play the game anytime after sleeping. You'll be prompted with a message describing a strange dream of falling blocks. As you play, you'll gain access to more features. The preview tile in the screenshot is one of those rewarded features, although it will likely be in a different location; colored blocks will be another feature. The new features will be rewarded for play time, point accumulation, high score, and/or levels achieved. (I'll probably make a version to let you have all features available from the start, too.)

What would you folks like to see in the mod? I'm open to suggestions.

whoa! hehe. i wouldnt usually run FO just to play tetris but if you could have it run during the game's "waiting moments" like the mentioned sleeping and also during waiting. or optionally a mode where game time is faster while playing for when you have to wait for something. the last one wil require saving progress tho since you might want to stop tetris anytime when the thing/time you're waiting for has arrived

I wouldn't fire up the game just to play Tetris either. It is intended as more of a mini-game time-waster, though. It's all in real-time and can be suspended/resumed at will, so speeding up time a little would be all that's needed for the last one.

I've thought about giving the player some experience points for playing--something to make it more worthy of the time spent on it. How about +1 EXP for clearing 4 rows at once, +5 EXP for every 50 rows, and +25 EXP for reaching level 20? I don't really know what would be a good amount to give.

I would play this while I wait 3-4 days for a vendor to restock. Better than doing nothing, I say.
