Controller for the PC : Othor Games

I'm looking for a good controller for the PC, and whenever this topic crops up you guys always suggest one good controller, but I forgot its name. Can anyone remind me what it is?

You can use a Xbox 360 controller with the PC. Most multiplatform or ports of console games assume you're using a 360 controller these days. Logitech also makes good controllers, imo, and much cheaper. I've had an old rumblepad for years.

I have a Logitech F510. Same capability, but much more pleasant to wield. Basically the same form as a PS controller, really.

Generally, in most cases, the Xbox 360 controller is the best controller on the market.

I wish I could use a 360 controller on the PS3.

I don't have a Y chromosome but actually prefer the 360 controller, myself. It fits my hands more comfortably than my old Logitech Rumblepad 2 did. (I have short fingers and wide palms, so with the 360 controller I can grip it easily and not have to reach too far to hit any of the buttons.)

Also there are some games for the PC, like Dead Rising 2 (IIRC) that will only accept the 360 controller or keyboard/mouse set-up.

Yeah, I'm not sure how well it works. Kinda dont wanna gamble with it. If I can get it from a retailer I'd go for it so I can return it if it doesnt work.

There's a way to present your opinions without stating them as facts.

The 360 controller is great for 3D games, but any 2D platformer or fighting game would probably control better with something with a better d-pad; like a Sega Saturn USB controller, or PS2 controller routed through an adapter.

I just read some reviews for it and it seems legit. They actually have a 2.0 version of it now.

I checked online, apparently it doesnt work well together and modding is the better way to go about cross platform use via dual mod

I saw a micro 360 controller clone, I think it was a gamestop brand, but I know it doesnt work on PC.

For me, it depends on the game. There is no controller that can cover every game, in my opinion.

On 2d platformers I pull of the old snes controller. On most other games I use the 360 controller.

I have a device called a http://images.futime.com/productimage/playstation2_Converter_FT-8D91-big.jpg that lets me use just about any controller that I already own, and is fairly cheap.

I have slender fingers/hands for a dude, and the 360 controller works just fine for me. Of course, it's all a matter of preference, correct?

Microsoft has something on their website about using a wired 360 controller with your USB port, if anyone cares.

I still use an Logitech dual action just for old school D-pad use. Got the wife one too. Works great.

I agree with going for the wired 360 controller. That thing is easily the best designed controller I have ever got my hand around.

I'm going to buy the Logitech F510 rumblepad tomorrow. I didn't go with the xbox controller because the left anolog stick and the d-pad are inverted.
