DarNified UI (stopped working)

Post » Sat Nov 27, 2010 4:49 am

Hi,

I've just installed the Dead Money DLC and the very latest version of NVSE - as the game wouldn't start unless I did so (ie, got the message: "you are using a new version of Fallout than this version of NVSE supports", etc). Great, set up to rock 'n' roll. Or so I thought.

However, I now can't get DarNified UI to work! . I've uninstalled and re-installed several times - using FOMM naturally. But no luck. Yes, I've followed all the instructed, edited my 'ini' file, etc - but nothing.

Got any ideas or advice for me? (as there is no way I'm playing the game with those pig ugly, enormous default/vanilla fonts and so on!!).

Thanks,
DANNY

Did you edit Fallout.ini or Fallout_default.ini? If you edit Fallout.ini the launcher overwrites the changes everytime you start the game, you must edit the Fallout_default.ini in the game's install folder.

Also make sure that you're steam cloud version of the ini file isn't being used (I had the same problem - I had edited every version of fallout.ini and fallout_default.ini I could find -- but once I turned off the steam cloud for FNV, it stopped overwriting my settings)

To turn off the steam cloud for FNV: In your games library in steam, right-click on FNV and go to properties - then go to the updates tab. There is a checkbox on that screen for "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Fallout: New Vegas" --- this is part of steam's attempt to make sure that "your gameplay experience is consistent across computers".

...might not be your problem, but it was mine. Hope it helps. :)

I edited all the .INI files (yet again) and all of a sudden DARNified UI started working again - no idea why!

Thanks for advice,
