I'm a teriyaki sauce nut. I make my own simple teriyaki sauce (soy sauce, garlic, sugar, in proportions that suit your taste, that's it), most store-bought ones are way way too sweet or have weird off-flavors.

--Years & years ago when we were poor 18 y.o's, Macaroni & Cheese w/hamburger & teriyaki sauce mixed in.
--Teriyaki sauce & sliced tomatoes/jalepenos mixed into scrambled eggs.

...but most "experiments" that turn out well are my attempts at somewhat imitating something I like from a restaurant...I don't look for/follow a recipe, I buy the known ingredients and wing it. Most of my pasta and stir-fry/soups come from that kind of experimenting. :)

Never put baking SODA into waffles... They explode...

I accidentally put baking soda into the waffle mix instead of baking powder, I put it in the waffle iron and I turned around to clean up the dishes. Then I heard a BANG!!! I look around and there is waffle batter everywhere... The waffle iron flipped open and I was shocked because I didn't know what I did wrong at first.

Exploding waffles- Complete and utter failure.

Some things I did make that are delicious are:

melting cinnamon taffy into liquid, then mixing it in with milk.

Then bologna with ketchup is freaking delicious

Salame with nacho cheese sauce is amazing as well

annnd... My most favorite thing my parents made (I still make them when I can) is a Daddy Mcmuffin.

You fry an egg or two, salt and pepper them, then you melt cheese over the top of the fried egg. You need those http://gomeat.com/products/lit-l-smokies.aspx to make this taste good. The beef kind. You cut the little sausages in half LONG ways. You make toast, butter it, then fry the sausages or warm them in the microwave. Put the sausages on the toast, (usually you want four WHOLE sausages for one piece of toast, which means 8 slices), then plop the fried egg on top, and you got a delicious breakfast sandwich. Soo good.

Sliced tofu baked with peanut sauce over it, and stir-fried broccoli on the side with said peanut sauce. 'Twas good.

I usually have a big breakfast on the weekends. When I was 14 my dad started to let me cook... he let me make breakfast for my family. After figuring out the egg cracking and the bacon frying, he'd just sleep in and let me make it.

Little did he know, I'd make something crazy.

1 pack of mini breakfast sausages (diced)
1 onion
1 tomato
1 chilli
Westchester Sauce
Barbeque Sauce (preferably sweet)

I don't know what to call it but 7 years later and I still make it for myself on the weekends.

...Rice (has to cooked in a special way though) is my favourite "dish" - I wouldn't mind if I had to eat only rice for the rest of my life :P - as such I mixed it with things I had in the fridge: bacon/ham bits, mixed with scrambled eggs and mince.

Strange? Perhaps. Tasty? Oh yes
