Immersive Aspects

Simple question, how immersive should the game be?

I think it should be partly immersive, but not based around it completely.
Which is what Oblivion and Morrowind did, obvious aspects like a third person option clearly show that they want to please all crowds.
But what do YOU think.

And why?

Option 2, A game focused on immersivness wouldn't be very good, I don't need a game to live my life

The poll might be meaningful if the term "immersive" weren't as subjective as the term "good." What immerses some annoys others, and vice-versa.

We've got people who were pretty content with Morrowind, people who thought Oblivion went the extra mile (and people who disagree with both those groups),
people who want 9-to-5 style jobs and people who couldn't care less about those,
people who insist we must have dating and relationships and people who don't care about those,
people who want non-optional "must eat, drink, and sleep" and people who don't,
people who want to be landlords buying and renting property and people who don't,
people who want "screen masks" outlining the viewport of their helmet and people who don't,

...so tell me again, what precisely is and isn't "immersive" by the Universal Definition?

So yeah...

went with the second option myself- but even that revolves around what I consider "immersive." YMMV

More immersive, the better. As long as it doesn't sacrifice playability. I'm for Very Immersive.

Option 2 by far, and I think that's what Bethesda is going for in all TES games.

I agree completely, and I for one loose immersion easily, for instance when I have to look at compass's green and red markers instead of the landscape, for a clue for where to go next, or when I can open a map and click on it to jump to the other end of map, instead of talking to a ferryman to carry me along with him, and the like...

Option 2. It can be as realistic and immersive as it wants until it gets annoying.

For me the more immersive and in depth a game is the better.

Immersion is good, but game content (items, weapons,...) is better.
