Running Redguard on Microsoft Virtual PC

Post » Tue Nov 30, 2010 7:32 pm

Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 runs a emulated graphics card (S3 Trio), with its own driver. Redguard requires you to install the drivers that came with it: the "Voodoo" drivers.

However, upon following the readme and extracting them to the Temp folder, and then choosing a new driver...the Voodoo drivers aren't recognized and cannot be listed to be "chosen" from.

Does anyone here run Redguard on Microsoft Virtual PC, and if so, how? The game won't let me play if I don't install its driver.

Thanks,

EDIT: More exactly, the error says Glide2x.DLL not found, and that Redguard does not detect 3dfx drivers on my system.

Problem bolded, its emulating the wrong kind of graphics card to run Reguard in hardware mode. Try using the software mode .exe instead.

I've run Redguard on WinXP with dgVoodoo. It emulates the video driver needed to run it.
