Tamriel, in which game?

Well, as games get more sophisticated, probably one of these days Beth could crank out the technology to create a full sized empire. Though the only way they would do this to make me happy is if High Rock was about to scale with Cyrodiil in Oblivion. This allows the large provinces to become larger while ensuring that the small provinces have plenty of room for their major cities. We'll probably see games which span over two provinces like in Daggerfall (Which showed Southern Highrock and Northern Hammerfell) before we will see the entire span of Tamriel.

I personally think it would be fascinating to travel all the lands again like in Arena. Granted, Arena was... Well, you couldn't reach other cities unless you fast travel. But to have an adventure which spanned across the whole continent again, seeing several diverse lands and unique challenges would be epic. Add to that, imagine what mods would be like if they aren't clown car'd into the world space of a single province.

Do I think Beth would be able to do every province justice? Well, not yet. But depending on how Skyrim comes out, maybe.

I'd love it. It would be a completely new experience everytime you go to a different province. Black Marsh seems like it would lend itself well to stealth and guerilla tactics and skirmishing, while the wide open areas of High Rock would be excellent for magic users. You'd have the beautiful and wondrous Summerset Isles and the gritty harshness of Elsweyr. It'd be a game of beautiful contrasts, and I'd love every damned second of it.

Can't wait 'til 2030.

I agree with Andric. First, I want to see all Tamriel and I think they can do it. Question is how much detail. And second, and another unpopular voter here, I would love an MMO ES OR, a multiplayer option at least. Although I know the dangers (6 years EQ and DAoC here) of MMO.

On 1. I say that because I remember an interview with Bethesda after ES3 came out. The question was asked about the size of ES2 vs. ES3 (being much smaller). Bethesda answered that they wanted more detail and a much more immersive environment. It seems logical judging from each installment to the next that they will continue to up the ante.

Daggerfall was great, I'm an old school gamer and I remember it well, but there's been a lot of water under the bridge. Oblivion was a masterpiece. I wish I could do it, but all of Tamriel. I truly hope one day they do.
