Race Hybrids

What about the gray prince?

Like that guy said above, the gray prince kept all of traits of his mother, an Orc. He didn't inherit his fathers vampireism nor any of his imperial qualities.

well they did have cross breed relationships, but its impossible to have half one and half the other. same principle as you cant have half dog half cat, it just doesnt work

This wouldn't be simple.

To be honest I like the whole "race purity" aspect of the game, makes things more black and white and less convoluted. For all intents and purposes, race as a whole is a gene platform. If a breton and a nord have a kid, the kid will either be a breton or a nord; one or the other, not both.

I was being silly, gawl! Any who, still trying to look for it, as it was a good chuckle.

EDIT: http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/fms/Image.php?id=38699. The comic, though, looks like it has been taken down.

That was funny, it looks like the body of a wood elf to me, or they used the resize console command.
The skin tone may be just from the face gen, I've turned a modded race which normally is pure red, into a more natural flesh colour.
Just with the set skin tone in the face gen.

If you can set body types more in Skyrim, it'll be fun to play around with.

What I would like to know is who is the first guy who stuck it to a lizard and a cat. Perverts.

Agreed that it would be fairly easy to mod.

Its more of an rp thing, but as someone mentioned the hybrid is basically the race of the mother. Besides, you can just make your own hybrid in the cs, its easy and takes about 4 minutes to do
i believe that only amply to the Men and Elf children ,i dont think we know how the child would look from two Man races ,but then again Imperial,Nord and Brenton look the same ,the only one difference is Redguard.

i think a book from Morrowind states that a beast and Men,Elf cant breed not ,i am not sure and lazy to check.

Read... I believe it's the 'Real Barenziah' sometime.

I read the uncensored Daggerfall version on UESP a while back and immediately knew why it got censored for Morrowind and Oblivion.

Anyone thinking of looking it up, just remember these words: What has been read cannot be unread. You have been warned.

They may look the same ( sort of ), but they have different inherent racial abilities.
A Imperial man with a Breton woman would produce a breton child with the magic resistance and bonus magica, the stats of a breton.
However the child may rarely have certain other features uncommon to a breton.
Say brown eyes instead of green or some such.

A Dunmer woman and Altmer man would produce a fire resistant, ancestral spirit summoning dark skinned Dunmer.
However they may not have the red eyes, or even take an Altmer style hair do, or even be taller than the average Dunmer.

On beast races, not sure exactly.
The Khajiit can have six with Man or Mer races, but is slightly messy / painful.
A child being able to be produced from such union I have no clue about though.

Edit: the real Berenziah was disappointing tbh.
A case of once you've seen it, it's not that interesting. though turgid is now my favourite word.

There were no crossbreeds in Oblivion because the TES lore has it that the child of two races is always the mother's race, with very minor features from the father. It takes dozens of generations of crossbreeding to cause noticeable changes (as was the case with the Bretons).

Well there were crossbreeds in Oblivion. The Gray Prince was a crossbreed. Also, Bretons are one big crossbreed race. But yes, your right, it's the mother that decides what the major appearance of the child looks like.
