A new look at web browser usage share in Europe

I don't even know what they are so you'd have to tell me whether they would or wouldn't.

https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/mlomiejdfkolichcflejclcbmpeaniij supposedly blocks sites like Google anolytics from tracking you.

According to Google, "Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier." However, each Google Chrome installation contains a unique ID that identifies its user. Google doesn't make it an easy job to remove this ID.

http://www.abelssoft.net/unchrome.php helps you with this task. It replaces your unique ID with Null values so that your browser can no longer be identified.

I suppose those seem like good precautionary measures as well.

This from the above link. Just so you are aware

Please note:
the development of unchrome has been discontinued because we started the development of a better application covering all functionality of UnChrome. This application is called AntiBrowserSpy and we highly recommend to use this one instead of UnChrome

I assume it's still working perfectly since they're just trying to do the same thing for other web browsers; though I could be mistaken.

There are a few very naive people in this thread. One day it may come back and bite you.

I tried Opera few years ago, was disappointed with the whole concept of having a multiple document interface. I prefer tabs and find them more intuitive. I just couldn't get the grips with the interface. It may be fast, but I don't care.

I also tried Chrome, but I couldn't get AdBlock working, or any plugins really, and got infected. Never again. It took me 2 days to get desktop back on a seemingly bricked system. I've been running realtime scanners diligently ever since.

So, I'll stick to Firefox with AdBlock for the time because of bad experience with all the other three, IE included. Well, I'm just paranoid with IE actually. I can't trust it. Haven't had any problems with Firefox. If some page didn't display correctly as it was designed for "IE only", I didn't care. It probably was not worth visiting anyways. However, these days, they are designing web sites to actually follow html standards, or require some plugin, so it's generally not a problem anymore.
