Level Designers/Map Makers

I'm thinking about making some maps for Portal 2 and wanted to see who out there would be interested. Also i'm curious to see how many others on the forums here consider themselves level designers/map makers and what programs they like to use.

While i'm not a level designer. I am a willing test subject.

Also once I'm done with the co-op campaign I might start working on a CTF mode for portal 2.

http://www.moddb.com/games/portal-2/tutorials/getting-setup-for-portal-2-mapping using the Alien Swarm SDK

Also, there is an http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1180008-unofficial-game-development-thread/ here and since mapping is a part of game development, I think this should probably go there. :)

For other games than Portal 2, I have done some personal maps for Halo PC and CE. Just for fun and all that. And some because, why not? For SCIENCE!

I've made some maps for RTS games in the past, mainly Command & Conquer games. I even entered an officially sponsored map contest one time. RTS mapping is fundamentally different from FPS though. I remember trying to create a map in Quake long ago, I can't remember what the editor was called but think it was the go-to choice for Quake mapping at the time... I made a large flat floor and put some monsters on it, but when I tried it ingame I just fell right through the floor, haha. Didn't explore the editor any further than that.
