Dawn of the Dead
Zombieland
and The Walking Dead series

Add Shaun of the Dead to this list and it is golden.

Grindhouse: Planet Terror centers around a zombie pathogen in the air, so I'll choose that movie because it is completely and utterly insane.

I hated Zombieland, it was a remake of Shaun of the Dead. Though two people didn't die in it.

I fail to see the resemblance, but it has been awhile since I watched Shaun of the Dead.

Oh, and how could I forget Planet Terror, that might be my favorite, that movie was [censored] awesome.

Dawn of the Dead. For the funnies, Shaun of the Dead and Return of the Living Dead. Oh, and Braindead of course.

Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Dawn of the Dead (2004)
Zombieland
Walking Dead

A lot of people here seem to like 28 Days / Weeks Later, so I might watch those ones next. Zombie movies are my favorite horror subgenre. :D

Edit: Oh yes and, I added dates to the two Romero films because there's more than one. I hope you guys knew that. :P

This is ridiculous. Apart from both being comedies, with zombies, Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland had nothing in common. Completely different plot structure, humour, etc. I'm baffled as to how you came up with that statement.

Back on topic, most of my favourite zombie movies are essentially comedies. I find that zombie movies work better if they don't take themselves too seriously.

Some of my favourites:

Zombieland
Shaun of the Dead
Braindead/Dead Alive
Day of the Dead original

Dawn of the Dead (remake), Pontypool (though even the creator said that they are technically not zombies), and Zombieland

I liked Shaun of the dead right up until the ending, the ending was stupid. <_<

Return of the Living Dead, the faux-sequel to Night and coined the zombies' obsession with BRAINS
