I don't know if this is new or old, but in one of the screenshots in the OXM UK article on Skyrim, the one where the player is casting magic and wielding a mace against some wolves, the caption says, "They don't look hurt, just a little bit confused".

The magic-casting hand is also casting the magic as if trying to create the effect on or around the player instead of on the target. (Like healing yourself with a spell in Oblivion) The magic effect is yellow/golden in colour.

Does this mean that there will be a confusion spell of sorts in Skyrim? Perhaps Command?
