Why do people have this problem with gamestop? I've never been to a bad Gamestop in my life, there are five of them within walking distance from Uni and another one 5 minutes away by train from my house, those are just the ones I'm at regularly, I've been to several more and never had any real complaints. The people working there are generally friendly and I have many friends who work there. Normally, when I enter a gamestop, I look around, have a fun covnersation with whoever is working there for a while then i either buy a game or I leave...only to come back and pick up that Boba Fett bobblehead because I'm a svcker, then leave again.
Anyway, I'm not opposed to this practice really, I'm not obsessed with having all the stuff for the game I possibly can, take the Isaac armor in Dragon Age 2, it comes with new copies of Dead Space 2. I'm not interested in Dead Space, I don't care about the armor, I'm not going to buy it. Simple as that, I have however pre-purchased DA2 from Steam to get a nice sword and shield, as well as access to the Black Emporium. I used Steam because it was quick, convenient and most of all, cheap.
I paid 49.99€ for the game...roughly exchanged into my currency it's around 370NOK or so, which means I paid almost half of what I would've had to pay in the store for the 360 or PS3 version, and still a bit less than the PC version. So Steam is cheap and convenient, that's why I use it. That's how you need to think about this, if you're willing to pay more for a cool sword in game, fine. Otherwise, pick what's convenient for you.
