Midas Magic Spells of Aurum?

Post » Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:32 am

Hey all.

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9562

I've been looking at this mod for some time. However, I'm worried that such a large addon will conflict with some of the overhaul mods I already have running. Would anyone be willing to take a look at a few mods that I have and tell me what they think? Thanks :)

I also have a question for anyone who have personally used Midas Magic Spells of Aurum. Is this mod balanced at all? The idea of all these spells sound great but I don't want to use these at a low level and feel overpowered.

Natural Environments
OOO
MMM
Unofficial Oblivion Patch 3.2.0
Better Cities
Realistic Magic Force (This effects the physics of ragdolls when hit by magic, so they fly further)
Rens Guard Overhaul
Alternate Start
Living Economy

Midas doesn't conflict with much of anything as it's a separate spell system that doesn't affect vanilla/OOO etc. settings. It has a slight compatibility issue with OOO as the current patch for getting OOO items to work in the whatever it's called in Midas doesn't work. That is, you can't use Gold Bars etc. from OOO to get Gold Nuggets etc. for Midas - as you once could. It's a minor issue, though.

Midas is balanced in itself, i.e. you have to find ingredients to access the spells and the more powerful spells the more hard to get ingredients. Also, powerful spells often require Master or Expert level. That said, MM spells are generally a bit stronger than in OOO so some feel it's a bit unbalanced still. So I guess it also depends on how sensitive you are to "perfect" balancing.

I know about only ONE mod wich conflicts with midas magic, and you don't have it in your list.
It is http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17479.
I would not use OC outer districts with it, though, or something wich alters the arcane university too much.

Actually im pretty sure that the incompatibility between Moriarcis and Midas magic has been fixed by the guy making Midas, so no more toruble running them
